Tennessee Titans cornerback Pacman Jones has a real skill for getting into trouble. Or maybe trouble just has a real skill at finding Pacman Jones.
Who knows? The details are still a bit murky, but it looks like Jones was at a
Las Vegas strip club called Minxx late Sunday night/early Monday morning when a triple-shooting occurred.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Jones may be a suspect.
Here is an account of what went down in the club via Sports by Brooks:
Cofield said Jones, accompanied by a large posse, entered the club late Sunday night with a "Glad Bag" full of dollar bills, and soon began throwing the money at the dancers ("making it rain"). Rappers Nelly and Jermaine Dupri were also at the club, and were throwing money at the dancers from "blocks of singles".
Two of the strippers allegedly began to fight over the cash, and in part because of that confusion, the club owners turned on the lights in an effort to get all the patrons to exit the club.
Cofield noted that after Jones and his group left the club, there were allegedly multiple gunshots from automatic weapons coming from Jones' entourage, resulting in two bouncers being shot (both are in critical condition) and a woman also getting hit with the gunfire (condition unknown).
On the upside, Pac Man Jones didn't spit on anyone. And based on his past club incidents (he's a saliva enthusiast), one can say that no spitting is a positive note to report (of course, not considering the fact that people were, um, shot).
Jones told his attorney Monday night that he didn't have anything to do with the shooting.
"I asked him: 'Was anybody in your group involved in the shooting? And he said, "No,'' attorney Worrick Robinson said. "I said, "Then why did you leave? He said, "When there's guns there's always someone else coming with a gun. That's what you do. You get out of there.
If you really think about it, that statement actually makes a lot of sense.
Bullets flying ... you running. Only an idiot would stick around to say "Hmmm, I wonder what's going on over there?"
UPDATE: Sports by Brooks is reporting that Pacman is caught on the club's surveillance video punching a stripper, biting a bouncer, and telling his friends to "smoke his ass" just before people were shot at the club.
Yeah ... that's not a good look for you, playa.

shhhhhhhh! I think Pac-Man just seem to be at the wrong places at the wrong time all the dam time. The report states that Nelly and Jermain Durpri were there also, how come neither one of them are suspects. Maybe because this is the life that Mr. Jones live and he was an easier target for the blame. I wish Pac-Man Jones well, I live in the state of Tennessee and i have seen in the News were Mr. Jones has been the target of much of the media frenzy. I think he needs to find a woman and have some children, maybe his ass will calm down some, if he is not in the penatentary some where. i am praying for the brother and hope they find out real soon that he was not involved in this incident.

Marge Schott (Cincinnati Reds owner) said it best: MILLION DOLLAR NIGGERS! You can take the monkey out of the jungle, but it has been proven once again that you can't get the jungle out of that monkey. No-one but a complete idiot, lives their live based on a rap song. But we see it over and over and over again. Idiot Jones goes into a strip club (the first sign of a real self-esteem issues) with a zip-lock bag full of dollar bills. "Duh, I'm a rich, young and truly dumb black af'lete, and ahz here 'ta make it rain".
A great ending to the story and a service to all the young black kids who look up to these clowns; would have been for this imbecile to have gotten shot and KILLED. I emphasize killed because as black people know; if someone gets shot and doesn't die, in the black community they are some sort of hero. That doesn't work for me. Impressionable young black kids interpret that all wrong and they are what's really important. To me at least.
It really wasn't that long ago that ships sailed from Africa and the only cargo was black slaves. So in a relatively short period of time, these fortunate or blessed individuals have either directly or indirectly, overcome countless obstacles and have everything that most people could ever dream of. Yet they keep putting themselves in bad positions for the sake of seeming, 'cool'. That's the jungle in the monkey.
Too shallow to realize that they don't have anything to prove. Subsequently, the only reason they hang out in places like strip clubs and low-end night clubs is to 'piss' on, or show off to those less fortunate than they are.
Had Jones gotten shot and killed, perhaps some young black millionaire of the future, would have seen the way it ended for yet another inadequate and reluctant role model, and did it differently. Maybe then, this kid wouldn't end up in the wee hours at a strip club or night club, trying to prove who's got more money, who's the bigger man, or who's got more fake-assed friends riding their coattail and hanging around them looking for scraps and causing trouble. Maybe this kids would instead count his blessings and find more constructive, less hazardous ways to, "make it rain". Perhaps he would, "make it rain" on more deserving and needy individuals like college students trying to get a decent education so that they can make a living that doesn't require taking their clothes off and rolling around the floor picking up dollar bills; but by using their brains.
There is a reason that each and every time you hear a story like this, you INSTANTLY know that it is about someone black. Night club/titty bar+late night+shooting=black. This entry is long enough, so I won't go down the list.
Why is it that white athletes and even white entertainers (except those like Marshal Mathers, who wishes he was born black) aren't out flaunting their wealth in people's faces and getting shot up and are content for the most part with enjoying private gatherings and family time? Of course, I know the answer and it will be in my book, but do you?

See, you know just who I mean. Sad isn't it?

I AM NOT A BIG PAC MAN JONES FAN.BUT I CAN SAY THIS ABOUT THE YOUNG RUNNING BACK WHO WILL HOPEFULLY BECOMES ONE OF THE MOSTGREATEST RUNNING BACK TO PLAY THE GAME. IF YOU HAVE A HISTORY OF BEING IN THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME OR HANGING WITH FRIENDS THAT IS ONLY ON YOUR COATTAIL BECAUSE OF YOUR FAME AND GLORY, YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR FRIENDS AND BE WITH TRUE FRIENDS THAT WAS THERE WHEN YOU DIDN'T HAVE THIS FAME OR GLORY AND AND TO PAC MAN YOU ARE BLESSED AND HAVE THINGS IN YOUR LIFE THAT NORMAL PEOPLE LIKE I CAN ONLY DRAEM OF. PAC MAN JUST SLOW DOWN A LITTLE BROTHER AND BE CAREFUL ABOUT THE PACES AND PEOPLE YOU DEAL WITH AND ENJOY YOUR LIFE AND CARREER AND THINK POSITIVE AND MAKE YOUR MONEY WIL YOU ARE STILL YOUNG AND INVEST YOUR MONEY RIGHT.
GOD BLESS YOU MAN

Its like this alot of those athletes are followers, and they have no one to be a mentor to them, no experienced, seasoned OG or father figure that will teach them how the game of having money and being young workes,so they are learning it all by experience, but who is it to say if they did that they would listen. These problems that these young wealthy black athletes and entertainers are having is alot more complicated than "they are just young, dumb and black" alot of them was raised in a single parent home and never had no real father figure in there life to educate them on the pitfalls they will face.Unfortunately they listened to the neighborhood hustler or some one that was a hustler instead of there wise mother, grandparents, uncle, auntie or experienced seasoned OG or father figure.

Do we really know what that young man was involved in other than going to a strip club? Here's the problem, we spend more time trying to force these boys to men millionair's into role models rather than making sure the one's we raise know what to do. When does the NBA, NFL, etc. reqiure these men to have real mentors? How about requiring them to put a portion of their earnings into a life after sports investment. Take the profiles they test them with and determine what personal growth needs will be addressed. A high percentage of pro's never had fathers and yet we expect wealth to help them cope with manhood or womanhood in some cases. Since we are all such great judges of character and know what we would do lets start by paying attention to the kids in our reach and be the father they need and not the after the fact winers and cry babies we have become.

Ordinarily I read the comments and either agree, laugh, or sigh, however Sparksfly's comment was so riveting and true,I felt compelled to respond. Sparksfly hit the nail on the head(multiple times). Young Black men need to understand that it's not about "keeping it real" you have to realize that once you are blessed enough to rise above your circumstances you need to go back and mentor the youth and teach them to put their money into things that will make you more money in the future. Invest in things that will appreciate in value. And even though that may not an insane amount of money to them that money won't last forever and even though strippers have to make a living too, those stacks of dollar bills could have been used to uplift the community and change their perception of "how you act when you have money". We as a people need to stop putting our money into spinning rims and stereo systems and designer clothing and more into real estate, books, and investments!
By the way, Sparksfly you seem very introspective and intelligent!
