It wasn't bad enough that the Vols crushed
On his radio show (which is also televised on MSNBC), Imus started describing the
1. Being called a ho is usually not a pleasurable experience.
2. Being called a ho, excuse me "nappy-headed ho," by some old white man who looks like he's had way too much Jim Beam and could be having a stroke -- that's just down right not right.
(see clip below)
You would think they stopped the racist/sexist commentary there. Wrong.
When talking about the
Jiggaboos? Wow. I guess we're giving the N-word a break these days.
So, if you're keeping score, within less than a minute a group of black women were called nappy-headed, hos, and jiggaboos. And it wasn't in a rap song, KKK rally, Neo-Nazi party or in a confessional booth with Rush Limbaugh.
Some people might find these statements, um, somewhat offensive, but Imus said people should relax and not worry about "some idiot comment meant to be amusing."
Like,
Goooooooooooooo Bigots!!!!!!!

I can't believe this shit! But then again I can cause this is "Amerikkka". I wish I could run into his old crusty ass out on the street. He would come up missing. It is never acceptable to refer to women that way.

For MSNBC to be a platform in which these views can be expressed is a shame and a disgrace. It is not enough to have a pre cursor stating that “his views are not the views of MSNBC”. If Imus is allowed to broadcast on MSNBC then we all must assume that these views are shared. Given the violent and unjust history of this country, I am amazed how anyone could not see these remarks as inflammatory. Freedom of speech is a great right, but with freedom comes responsibility. And that responsibility is shared by those companies that promote such views, disclaimer or not. Allowing Imus to continue broadcasting on MSNBC gives a clear message to those who are offended by such recklessness. The message is they do not care or NEED the viewership of those offended. I will not be a supporter of any network that decides to be a platform of such views. MSNBC and NBC will be blocked from my channels until this program is no longer carried. I ask others that were offended to take the same action, because an “apology” just isn’t good enough

Being different is always considered a liabilty to whites and that difference is a skin color other than their own. Look at him, that is all he "has going for himself in his mind". Not only is he an idiot but he is one of the most unattractive men to walk the planet and an idiot who has the audacity to spill out those expletives about black women. He is the type who has to make putdowns to make himself feel better about himself and it came from his core.Shame on him and NBC.

His comments are indicative of the fact that we, as a people, allow our own comedians, singers and so forth to be so disrepectful of Black women that others think that it is acceptable behavior.
Mr. Imus certainly should know better or at least be smart enough to keep it to himself, at least now he is exposed.
An apology from Mr. Imus would be less than worthless since he would not mean what he says. He and his kind have always been around and will continue to be around.
We have to concentrate on teaching our own people to respect themselves and others, especially Black women.
We have more important things to worry about than Mr. Imus and his insincere apologies.

after seeing the clip about the comments these men made I felt like I had been stabbed in my heart thats how bad it hurt me to hear such evilness and haterd. The Rutger women basketball team are daughters, sisters and mothers. who have made a very big accomplishment to society. These are my heros and they should be admired, not put down. the way these men did them. Black women of america don't stop being as powerful as we are.We are proud and stand strongthat is obvious, after all it was us in the final two.Not these two white devils. who should be pitied. poor white man forever the DEVIL.

Excuse me, but did anyone actually watch the NCAA Woman's Final? Did anyone actually watch these "So Called Heads Play?" It's sad that a nationally televised host gives you a platform and you don't ask for an apology. Attacking this guy will only get you more of the same. Have you heard this guy cough? He sounds like he's hacking up a lung. He could be involuntarily quarrantined as a TB risk! Don Imus isn't a racist and sometimes he's not funny. This guy is one man that I would vouch for. If he won't apologize to the Rutgers Team, then let this stand as an apology. Go win that tournament next year! Let this moment motivate you. Never forget, image matters. He could have questioned the sexual preferences of several players in this game-not that there's anything wrong with it. We don't have to watch. The sport needs all the attention it can get.
