It wasn't bad enough that the Vols crushed
On his radio show (which is also televised on MSNBC), Imus started describing the
1. Being called a ho is usually not a pleasurable experience.
2. Being called a ho, excuse me "nappy-headed ho," by some old white man who looks like he's had way too much Jim Beam and could be having a stroke -- that's just down right not right.
(see clip below)
You would think they stopped the racist/sexist commentary there. Wrong.
When talking about the
Jiggaboos? Wow. I guess we're giving the N-word a break these days.
So, if you're keeping score, within less than a minute a group of black women were called nappy-headed, hos, and jiggaboos. And it wasn't in a rap song, KKK rally, Neo-Nazi party or in a confessional booth with Rush Limbaugh.
Some people might find these statements, um, somewhat offensive, but Imus said people should relax and not worry about "some idiot comment meant to be amusing."
Like,
Goooooooooooooo Bigots!!!!!!!

I know im alittle late on this topic but if yall havent gotten over it yet you need to. How can you be mad at someone saying something that you or your friends or someone you know probably say on a daily basis? Dont blame the network either its not their fault. Like robert, greg, ellie and others have said its partly our fult because we use those terms on an everyday basis. We need to get ourselves in check before we blaming it on others.

Last time I checked. White people spend a lot of time and money, Getting perms that give themd curly look much like the natural coarse curl of a black person. Tanning to darken their skin but sorry tanning doesn't produce melanin. And what's up with the collagen injections in the lips, still not naturally full like my people. We as race should value our natural beautiful features because comments like the racist one made by Don Imus and his brothers exist because white people wish they were us. And it has been true since the beginning of our history.

When this first broke the news I was like "WTF?" This was enraging because for me to be a young African American women, this was not only disrespectful to my race but to my gender as well. You have to remember that I was a female before I was black. This showing of racism and sexism in a "progressive country" such as the United States is showing the lack of wisdom and knowledge but and overabundance of ignorance. So this Imus dude really needs to go somewhere and understand the gravity of what he said

The bottom line is simple. Caucausions due to thier history of the treatment of black people cannot put themselves in the same light to speak the same way as black people do to one another. Why force "political correctness" upon all minority groups because it suits YOUR purpose? I think its just another form of caucasion control due to the fact that hip hop/black culture dominates the world at this time. Their suburbanite caucasion precious children are choosing to adopt the culture of the black people, so lets make a big issue where there really is no need. Imus was out of line and THAT'S the bottom line! No ifs, ands, or buts about it. If you don't like the lyrics of rap music dont listen, dont give it credance, nor credit. Because a ignorant caucasion man was fired, as he should of been is just that, and ONLY that. A ignorant caucasion man being fired. Stop blaming rap music and rap artists for everything under the sun. Look behind the picture. Look at the REAL picture and stop running around like sheeple and for once stop believing the hype. As far as Al Sharpton is concerned, he needs to pick his battles wisely. He is sheeple leading sheeple. He needs to stand behind some REAL BLACK CAUSES!!! Follow him if you must but be wise if you do. For his path is not the true path. I send you my brothers and sisters My Blessings. I will pray that your minds stay strong for they wish for it to be weak. Realize your power and utilize it in the most intelligent way possible. Watch who claim to be your leaders and look at thier REAL agenda's for only then will you see the light.
