Actually, by vacation, I mean suspension. The NFL has officially suspended the Titans cornerback for the entire season. And he won't be alone: Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry is suspended for the first eight games of the season.
Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a letter to both Jones and Henry concerning the suspension. (Awww, that's so sweet and personal. No one sends letters anymore.) Here's what the commish had to say:
OK, that wasn't exactly sweet. That was more of a "shame on you, punks" type of letter.
So you make it rain a little, have a knack for being in the middle of gunfire, and may have had about 10 or so run-ins with the law, and all of a sudden you're an "embarrassment" to the NFL.
Oh, wait, those are actually some shady things. My bad.
Shame on you.

Pac, please take this time off and get it together, leave the trouble behind, go on to be the supertar you were born to be. I've set in LP and watched you rip it up, the Titans and the Titans true fans need you on the field. We'll see you next season in time for the superbowl run.

Good luck Pac, take the time off and put all of this mess behind you. You will own Nashville if you just play ball the way you play ball. I've sat in LP and watched you light that place up time and again. The Titans and the Titans fans need you on the field. See ya next year, for the superbowl run.

I am glad to see the commissioner step up and set an example . It's time these guys learn that what they do off the field comes under the same scrutiny as ordinary citizen. Way to go!! Commish!!

Not only to pacman, and henry, but a lot of fringe cowboys who finally make a buck and go ape. The NFL is paying these clowns and w/contract a life style analyt
should be assigned to teach them about finances, respect and the law for the first year of their contract. Reign them in from day one.

Pac Man should take this as a lesson learned, and get help or,grow up from this, because all of us have to take responsibility for our actions and in life we always have to pick our friends wisely. It's always a reflection on one's self. Take care Pac Man, and wise up, you had too much going for you not to. I wish you well peace my brother!!

This is politicking and more appeasement of a bigoted fan base. If Goodell was serious about cleaning up the NFL he would establish clear guidelines and then enforce punishment based upon those guidelines.
Never mind the fact that Pacman hasn't even been proven guilty of anything, "Due Process", but what about other players?
Jeremy Stevens got a DUI? Does the NFL sanction drinking and driving? Why was he not issued some kind of punishment.
A woman was sexually assaulted by a friend of Patrick Kerney at his house this summer. It's a shame Goodell and the NFL don't find rape to be embarrassing, because I think I would be embarrassed.
Keep up the good work though your doing a heck of a job brownie, I mean GOODY!!!

I saw an interview with PacMan Jones on ESPN with Dion Sanders and his whole point was growing up in a family where both parents were incarcerated and being impoverished, he was constantly faced with making the wrong decisions. This maybe true, but he must take the responsbility for his own actions. Since he was blessed with a NFL contract, he must think professionally and leave the street mentality in the streets.

It is about time NFL started to clean up it's act. These thugs, no matter what color they are, need to be weeded out. Both parents incarcerated? Big deal. Thug punk. The NBA is LONG overdue. These creeps have ruined the game. I would like to have a 5 year inelligibility claus for all Felons. You have a serious crime, you can't play pro for 5 years. Pro sports are too good for them.
