It's completely understandable that the producers of 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' (the movie) want to give the classic '80s cartoon a 'hip' makeover for the 2000s, but ... wow ... Alvin, Simon and Theodore are gangsta lookin' now.
And we don't quite get why.
In this movie poster, Simon is rockin' an '80s Run DMC look and Theodore just looks like an obese Ray Charles (or someone's grandfather who's off his meds and thinks he's suddenly down with the hip-hop revolution), but Alvin could def be an extra in a Young Jeezy video.
Come to think of it, in the crapola state rap music is in today (you know, the one where anyone who can come up with a cheesy hook can have a hit record), the Chipmunks probably could cut a No. 1 album.
Hold that thought. Coming straight outta, um, I don't know, Toonville, behold the Chipmunks 'walk it out' and 'buy u a drank':

i like it it's funny but it's simple to make the music because there is a program for windows that allows you to adjust the pitches of anyones voice i've done it several times just for kicks

I think it is great. We are moving in to a new era and people have to accept that. If anyone have seen Happy Feet, there you saw hip-hop penguins singing and dancing to black music. Actually it was well thought out cartoon with the animation and music so well coordinated. So having said that, don't knock the movie until you see it. By the way I love Alvin Simon and Theodore then and now.
