Our judicial system operates on the premise that one is innocent until proven guilty, but there's some pretty damming evidence in a detailed, 18-page indictment that suggests Michael Vick was involved in a gruesome dog fighting operation. Is he innocent? Is he guilty as sin? Should the NFL suspend him? Should the Falcons cut him? Should he be allowed to play unless proven guilty? Why would anyone be involved with/pay to see bloody dogs fight to the end? The questions are endless. See what people are saying about Vick and tell us what you think after the jump.

I think that Vick is guilty. He knew what was going on and he let it go on. To all the people out there who think that Vick should not go to jail or at least lose some money. Have you ever seen dogs fight? It is the most horrible thing you will ever see! Dogs feel pain just like we do, and anyone who could just sit there and enjoy this kind of activity is retarded SOB who is masquerading as a human being. I wouldn't want a man like to to ever touch me, much less have children with!

Dog fighting is wrong on so many levels and if Michael Vick is found guilty then he should be punished accordingly. We have to wait for the law to decide. But in the meantime, I hope the federal government pursues all American citizens involved in this sort of thing and put a stop to breeding farms that raise these type of dogs. Start from the head, not the tail. I just wonder if one of these dogs attacked and killed a child would Peta be as outraged?

# 39 JUST SAYING... GET A GRIP SISTA there is no need for name calling if you want to debate the issue we can and for the record I do have a JD degree from Stanford University and I had all of those undergrad classes mentioned. My point is it doesn't matter what the public think or what he say to the media or to you or me he is still entitled to his day in court. We don't know what went on on that property or what his involvement was nothing has been proved. And in case you don't know YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SAY ONE WORD IN YOUR DEFEND ITS UP TO THE PROSECUTOR to prove their case. The evidence means nothing at this point. His lawyer's will now have their shot at the evidence then let see what happen. As for his endorsements none of them have been pulled and the NFL have already stated that they will wait before taking any action which is the right thing to do. How would you like it if your job suspended you without your day in court. All I'm saying is while everyone is jumping on the band wagon finding him guilty based on public opininon most if not all would think that it was unfair to them if the world jumping on that wagon against them without their day in court. Also dogfighting is a way of life in a lot of the southern states and for that matter cock fighting and bull fighting are more common that dog fighting in a lot of country it doesn't mean it right its just a fact of life.....to be continued

Sorry for the insult that's generally not my style, but it gets so frustrating when we as a people feel that we should DEFEND each other because where Black
We don't realize that this ISOLATES us from Society all the while we WANT TO BE ACCEPTED-----IT'S WARPED THINKING
Let's me try ONE MORE TIME, to convey what I know is true. One, you should stop referring to yourself.
Michael Vick is in the PUBLIC EYE, there are people who love him, have stood by him, have supported him and KIDS that look up to him.
For him to NOT SAY, "I am not Guilty, I WOULD NEVER DO SUCH A THING"------PERIOD------DEFYS HUMAN NATURE AND INTELLECT.
He does not have to GO INTO DETAIL-------Now address that ONE statement and tell me how this makes sense.-----
BECAUSE I LOVE TACKLING EXCUSES, AND SILLY RATIONALIZING

# 45 dee person and #40 Christina. To say that shows where your mind is at. Anyone who promotes and glorifies the mutilation and killing of ANY living thing has SERIOUS mental problems themselves. It's no telling what else they would hurt. Children next? hmmmmmm......

I agree with you on ONE THING, It should NOT BE BECAUSE HE'S BLACK.
It should be because he PATICIPATED in a HANESS CRIME.
But, unfortunately we have MANY people in our race that choose to RALLY behind Michael Vick, because he is BLACK.
This MUST END, it gives us the image of being CONSPIRERS. And an image of a race of people that will STAND BEHIND anything, or anyone that is Black even though they're in the wrong.
I posed a question that NO ONE will be able to answer, because am thinking ANALYTICALLY and am right.
I simply asked, if Michael Vick was NOT GUILTY of these crimes, considering he's in the SPOTLIGHT, and has many admiring fans why wouldn't he make a short statement, expressing his INNOCENCE and his EAGERNESS to have his day in court.
He doesn't have to make a DETAILED STATEMENT. Why wouldn't he say-----"Am not Guilty", "I would NEVER do such a thing".-----------PERIOD.
Remember he is NOT YOU, when you are in the PUBLIC EYE, and make your money and endorsements through your being in the public eye. Most celebrities UNLESS THEIR INSANE. Would try to VINDICATE THEMSELVES.
An example of that would be, (IN WHITE NEWS): Avil Lavigne was ACCUSED of STEALING MUSIC, she must go to court and she is being SUED. She immediately told her fans "THIS IS NOT TRUE", "I would never do this"--------PERIOD.
And her "CRIME" does not even weigh in comparison to this.
As long as we continue to DEFEND THE UNDEFENDABLE, we will be looked upon UNFAVORABLY-------PERIOD.
And unless there's some BLACK PLANET somewhere where we live AMONGST OURSELVES, that I don't know about---------OUR IMAGE DOES COUNT.
PERIOD.

I am so sick of hearing about. I am sick of PETA. I am sick of the politicians. This country has a judicial system that says a person is innocent until proven guilty, but in recent times the case is tried in the media before the person even goes to trial. This sure takes the media light off the men and women dying everyday in Iraq. I still have not seen a logical reason that America is still at war. It also takes the spot light off the price of gas which has inflated the price of most other consumer goods. Enough please!!! We have greater issues than a pro athlete alledgely being involved in dog fighting. What is the sport of boxing? Humans fighting, go figure.

That would be a great argument, if there weren't MANY PROBLEMS, that need ADDRESSING.
Why should we live in a Society where we PICK AND CHOOSE. Shouldn't we address problems as they come up. Or are you saying IGNORE SOME, and FOCUS ON OTHERS.
This would create a confusing Society wouldn't it? Who would DECIDE what is of most importance?? YOU.
I think ALL the problems you listed are addressed, as well as when other problems arise we address those TOO.
If a story came out tomorrow about a Celebrity stealing from a Charity, should we ignore it because of Irag, or high gas prices.
Trying to use your "ESCAPIST" mentality and technique will ONLY GET YOU SO FAR. Eventually you will have to ADDRESS NEGATIVE ISSUES, in order to DEPLETE NEGATIVITY.
Wrong is Wrong, I don't care what ISSUE your talking about, and that has to be VOCALIZED. Society doesn't' pick and choose to your liking JUST BECAUSE YOUR UNCOMFORTABLE,and you think the situation reflects badly on you somehow and you wish it WOULD GO AWAY.
And I can guarantee you, especially as a Writer, I can speak intelligently about ANY of the issues you brought up in your post.
BUT ON THIS POST WHERE TALKING ABOUT MICHAEL VICK--------------------------PERIOD.

To Just Saying. Get a life. This is a post. Not to be personal. You don't know me and I don't care to know you. I state my opinion. You stated yours, like all post. The man is still innocent until proven guilty, this issue address or not. You know nothing about my mentaility, so don't categorize me. My point is this issue does not deserve the press it is getting. He is only getting it because he is a celebrity. Every story about famous people should be addressed and go on and on, just because they are famous? Our air ways can be used for better. Go to bed and rest your weary brain.
