The sky really is the limit here, but the folks at HBO's Costas Now decided to crap on Barry Bonds for his special day.
Happy Birthday, kiddo.
According to Bugs and Cranks, last night's TV program was practically "an all-out assault on Bonds."
My main issue with this "If Bonds Holds the Home Run Record, It's Tarnished" line of thinking is, well, who the hell was there when Babe Ruth was hitting balls out the park? I'm not suggesting the Sultan of Swat was on something, but I'm also not saying I was there sniffing in his locker to prove he had an unfair advantage or not.
Oh, wait, maybe we do know of one clear advantage the Babe had back in the day. For that we turn to Chris Rock's insightful (and funny) commentary from last night's Costas Now:
Bob Costas: Is race irrelevant?
Chris Rock: Ty Cobb's numbers are bullshit and Babe Ruth's numbers are bullshit.
Bob Costas: Because of segregation –
Chris Rock: Because they didn't play against black players. It's like saying I won the New York City Marathon but no Kenyans ran that year. Babe Ruth has 714 Affirmative Action home runs.

RotfLMAO Chris Rock is the Truth, cuz he spits the truth. I hate how people are hating Barry Bonds for what he's accomplished. Steroids or not he still has to hit the ball one of the hardest, if not the hardest, things in sports to do. I have a challenge for all of those Barry Bashers, pick any one of the WWE wrestlers and put him in a baseball uniform and see how many homeruns he hits. I bet Chris Benoit couldn't hit the baseball out of the park, why? BC HE HAS TO HIT THE DAMN BALL FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Chris Rock, but he reminds me of Obama. The man can't celebrate the success of a Black man getting ahead, Chris is getting paid for bringing down a "Negro." To borrow a line from Chris' movie, "Head of State"; "That ain't right!" Chris Rock is comedically challenged since the N-word Funeral. Instead of directly profiting from using the word, he substitutes a real one for the word. I'm against bringing anyone down who didn't get caught. Did Chris say anything about Michael Vick? Now that's a "Negro" who needs some comedy to lighten his load. America cares more about Lassie than they care about some homerun record. It's not like Bonds is breaking Babe Ruth's record. Wait until a Hispanic tries to break it. They will be calling A-Rod an "Illegal." Who are his parents and did they give him an advantage? What did they feed him to make his swing so sweet? Chris, leave a Black man alone. There are enough White critics and comics who will clown Bonds. Don't help them. That's what scares me about Coz, Oprah, and Obama. They seem too eager to be critical. Look around, the media talks all day about sports firgures, folks protest against animals. Speak about the war and protesting, people no where to found. They can be angry and uspet about deaths of animals but not our Soldiers? I am confused. We all fall for the media side tracking the real issues in America. We profit by tearing each other down.

I think what Barry Bonds is about to accompish is the the greatest thing a baseball player could ever strive for.When he breaks this record it will probably be a very long time before anyone else ever gets close steriods or not.

How much hate can we spew against whites whom we feel are being unfair towards Barry, when Hank Aaron himself said he wont be at the stadium when he breaks the record. He feels as if he doesn't deserve to be in the record books either.
All of this isnt because Bonds is black or white. This isnt about steroids. This is about his not being a smile for the camera, ass kissing ballplayer. He doesnt give a rats toot about what someone thinks of him.
They have to give him credit where its due and it hurts them to do so.
Because he really doesn't give a damn.
