As many expected, Michael Vick pleaded not guilty to federal dogfighting charges.
'As expected' because his only other option was to plead guilty, and, well, what fun would that be?
Not much at all.
The date to remember is Nov. 26, which will kick off, certainly not Vick's NFL season, but what's shaping up to be an OJ Simpson-like-media-bonanza dogfighting trial of the century.

The PETA peeps are revved up, Michael Vick ... not so much. But the Falcons QB has started to assemble his own 'Dream Team' of lawyers.
One of those lawyers, Billy Martin, read a statement Vick prepared today:
Oh really now?
When this canine mess first hit the fan back in April, Vick blamed family members for the dogfighting evidence. "I'm never there. I'm never at the house," he said. "I left the house with my family members and my cousin. They just haven't been doing the right thing."

Hell How do we expect the White press to treat Vick fair when he can't even get fair treatment in the black press all you guys need to take off those hater blocker you are wearing.. Give them HELL MIKE... I Don't know you but as a father pf 5 black males and a black man I Love you all the way from Chicago... Kick their BuTTs with the truth!!!

I agree. We should stand behind Micheal Vick. Everyone is acting this way because he is a millionarie African American Male. It would be naive to think that the same would happen to a white male. Nevertheless, I say let the boycott begin.

ITS NOT LIKE OJ WALKING . HE WAS RETIRED FROM FOOTBALL VICK IS NOT. EVEN IF HE WALKS THE PRESSURE OF FANS AT EVERY GAME WILL BE INSURMOUNTABLE.THERE MAY BE CONFRONTATIONS IN STADIUMS WITH THOSE FOR AND AGAINST HIM AND IT WILL BE A CATASTROPHY.ITS FOOLHARDY TO THINK ITS ABOUT VICK. THIS WHOLE UGLY ALLEGATION HAS TAKEN ON A LIFE OF ITS OWN.

Thank You chgobigron@aol.com, my white co-worker of course and I was having an almost heated arguement last week about Michael Vick Dogfighting scenario you already knows his statement, when did animals become more human beings than actually real human beings don't get me wrong what he's accuse of is crazy, but you have men and women dying everyday in Iraq & Afghanistan were is the outrage with the Bush Administration, why aren't we calling for his impeachment for telling us lies to justify the war. I will still give Michael Vick my support not because he's a Black African-American but because he has not been found guilty, if we as black people supported OJ Simpson who has never really done anything for his own people why can't we support Michael Vick. I will be praying for him and hope god willsee him through this, God will never hand you something that you can't handle, keep your head up!

As the homeowner, M Vick is responsible for any illegal activities that are conducted on his property. In the statement read by his attorney, it never mentioned anything about the dogs that were tortured. In my opinion, it was just a politically correct statement & he's still not taking responsibility for what went on at HIS residence.

I dont agree with standing behind Micheal Vickas of yet simply because we really dont know if hes guilty or innocent. I say we wait for all the facts to come out in the trial and let the justice system run its course before we know who we stand behind.We know him as an athlete and nothing more so I think itd be wise to know if were going to stand behind an innocent man, or a guilty one.

Facts are stubborn things, but Mike Vick is Black and rich. This creates a problem for America, the NFL, and all dog lovers. How much must this man pay for his alleged crimes? The bidding opened at 6 years, 350 thousand fine, and expulsion from the NFL. This is the bid and we haven't even heard the evidence. The problem with Michael Vick is the same problem that Imus had. It's tough to get justice from your biggest critics. Some of these people were never fans and they never will be. Bottom line on Vick, the NFL must work to save him because talent gets you in the fraternity. These critics are out to destroy the entire business. I hope the NFL stands up to economic blackmail better than CBS. Where were all these dog lovers when China sent us bad dog and cat food. What price justice for Vick? The economic death penalty? Nobody wants to defend the indefensible like Democrats did for Clinton and Republicans are for Bush. Let the bidding begin.
