One really has to feel sorry for the plight of the male professional athlete. He's swimming in pools of cash, has hot women throwing themselves at him from wall to wall and apparently has not one clue on how a condom works (or where to buy one for that matter of fact).
Enter Broncos running back Travis Henry.
He has a $25 million contract, he's bought a $100,000 car, dropped $146,000 on jewelry ... and yet finds himself a tad on the broke side when it comes to those essential, but oh so pesky, child support payments.
You see, Henry, 28, has nine children ... from nine different women ... in at least four southern states.
(To say he's been a busy man would be quite the understatement.)
He's been ordered to establish a $250,000 trust to cover a new $3000/month child support payment due to his, let's just say, not-so-conservative spending habits.
Funny, how Henry signed a contract with the Broncos in the off-season that guarantees him $12 million and yet had nothing but lint in his pocket for child support.
Funny? No.
Try sad. Really, really, sad.
Nevertheless, Henry's lawyer, Shiel Edlin, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Henry wants to be a good parent. "I know these are a lot of kids, and there might be some questions about it, but he's a really committed father."
I'm sure we can all agree, nothing says commitment like skipping out on child support or buying shiny new spinners instead of feeding your children.
But on the real, nine kids ... by 28? Did Usher's 'Confessions' teach us nothing? Wrap it up, people.
Wrap ... it ... up.

First and foremost, some of these black athletes they themselves come from homes where having multiple kids is an everyday accepted behavior in the black community. I played football in college with a guy who had 12 brothers and sisters and his mother was all of 36 years old.
The thing about it was the fact that he wasn't even the oldest ! He had a sister and a brother who were older than him !
Needless to say, he assumed that's how people lived and so by our sophomore year, he'd fathered 2 kids by two different women and he felt no shame about it.
Travis Henry is just mirroring what's he's probably been exposed to ! It's even more of a shame to think he's fathered 9 kids (obviously safe sex never entered his or these women's mind) and wants nothing to do with them financially or any other way !
That's the really sad part !

P.S., AT 28, HOW LONG OF A CAREER DOES HE THINK HE HAS LEFT? HE HAD TO BORROW MONEY TO PAY CHILD SUPPORT FOR JUST THE ONE EVEN THOUGH HE MAKES MILLIONS? WHAT HAPPENS WHEN HIS CAREER ENDS? THERE'S NO WAY HE CAN SUPPORT ALL 9+ THEN. I DON'T CARE HOW YOU GROW UP. THERE COMES A TIME WHEN SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE TALKED TO HIM, HIS ADVISER, FAMILY, THAT IT DOESN'T PAY TO CREATE A BUNCH OF KIDS YOU HAVE NO INTENTION ON RAISING.

Guess he though he could handle it, money wise. That is sad. Whe he decides to settle down(if)he will regret his past and will be paying dearly also.

I would bet my last dollar Travis Henry doesn't EVEN know the names of the children he's, um....er, spawned. Can't use the term "father" in this case.

Another ignorant professional athlete thinking he is "god's gift"; not having a clue that he is being stalked by gold diggers looking for a pay day. Nine kids...nine times duped. He outta pay for being stupid and having recreational sex with all those women. He is an easy mark. I pity the children and doubt they will ever see a penny of the child support. Whether he pays it or not.

The "Black Man Syndrome" is alive and well. The black race is doomed until they can establish a solid family enviroment.

y does the entire nation all put the blame on the man? what if the contraceptives broke?/ and what about the hoes that kept sleeping with him just because they see a bunch of dollar sings around him?? you may say that is a good idea 3g's a month for support, but i dont what about the rest of the single moms who only recieve like $180/ weekly for 2 kids?? if hes paying $36,000 a year what the hell is the mom paying for?? she played a major part in the act of conceiving that kid also. come on your honor wake up and open your eyes do something to teach these woman that there are other ways of being able to live the lifestyle that you want besides bedding down superstars to get rich. get off your lazy a**es and get a job. you really think that entire 3g's is going on that little boy or is it going to the upkeep of that goldiggin skeezer?? besides what if instead of waking up pregnant she woke up with AIDS?? then they would b saying that hes infecting the community

My mother and grandmother always told me to keep my dress down and don't have sex with any man unless he is your husband. Women know men are out there to try them and get it whenever and from whomever that foolish enough to give it up, never mind the condoms. These women should have said "NO" and they would not be in the news with 9 other women trying to get child support from a man. The man shares half of the blame for these out-of-wedlock children, but the women share the other half of the blame. I would be so ashamed to hear that someone I slept with had babies by 8 or 9 other women. There is enough shame to go around to him and these nasty women.
