One really has to feel sorry for the plight of the male professional athlete. He's swimming in pools of cash, has hot women throwing themselves at him from wall to wall and apparently has not one clue on how a condom works (or where to buy one for that matter of fact).
Enter Broncos running back Travis Henry.
He has a $25 million contract, he's bought a $100,000 car, dropped $146,000 on jewelry ... and yet finds himself a tad on the broke side when it comes to those essential, but oh so pesky, child support payments.
You see, Henry, 28, has nine children ... from nine different women ... in at least four southern states.
(To say he's been a busy man would be quite the understatement.)
He's been ordered to establish a $250,000 trust to cover a new $3000/month child support payment due to his, let's just say, not-so-conservative spending habits.
Funny, how Henry signed a contract with the Broncos in the off-season that guarantees him $12 million and yet had nothing but lint in his pocket for child support.
Funny? No.
Try sad. Really, really, sad.
Nevertheless, Henry's lawyer, Shiel Edlin, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Henry wants to be a good parent. "I know these are a lot of kids, and there might be some questions about it, but he's a really committed father."
I'm sure we can all agree, nothing says commitment like skipping out on child support or buying shiny new spinners instead of feeding your children.
But on the real, nine kids ... by 28? Did Usher's 'Confessions' teach us nothing? Wrap it up, people.
Wrap ... it ... up.

I agree with #13, you already know what the deal is with him when oyu laid down. One thing about nine children is telling me is that he probably never uses a comdom, which means guess how many time he's been to the clinic. You juct don't pic up things like this overnight. Sure, the $$$ from the NFL makes getting women easier, but I'm sure he has always beemn like that. And for a so-called women to lay down with a man, without a comdom, who has 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 kids already, that was stupid. The judge should order all of them hysterectomies and no child support. Dummies!

How can his lawyer call him a committed father when his actions say otherwise. I don't care how much he loves kids 9 and all by different women and the first thing he does is spend money on stuff that depreicated as soon as he drove off the lot and walked out the jewelry store. And then on top of that he has to borrow money from his former team to pay the bill, don't cry broke now you just dropped over a quarter of a mil on unecessary items. I mean do what you want with your money, BUT TAKE CARE OF YOUR RESPONSIBILTIES FIRST!!!!!!! BE A MAN

These are the nine that are known. If he is that reckless there are surely more. We hear so much about the poor athlete and how he is a target for gold digging women. However, there is nothing said about the athlete who continually puts himself in bad situations. At the age of 28 he surely knows how babies are made and there is no excuse for this kind of reckless behavior. There are women out there who are looking for a payday and what better way than to have a baby by a professional athlete.
I'm glad the judge made him establish a trust fund for these kids because they are the innocent ones.

This is another example of why I say that men with money, should freeze their sperm, get a vasectomy, and decide when THEY WANT to have children. Unfortunately, there are lots of trifling azz women out there who are just looking for a meal ticket and will use kids to get it. The other thing he must question is his judgement about disease.

#36, you are right that the women laid with him, but he should have been responsible for contraception if she was not. Also, knowing that there are women out there with dollar signs in their eyes he should have taken a little more caution. We as individuals are responsible for our sexual safety and health no one else. If the person you are with is not concerned about safety, it should make one pause before going there.

Why is it so difficult to wait until marriage for a sexual relationship? If the African-American community does not start repairing the family structure very soon; we will die as a people!
