Just when you thought Joe Torre was about to sign a new contract with New York, he gives a little, "Um, thanks but no thanks" and turns down a one-year deal worth $5 million, including $1-million bonuses for each round of the playoffs that the team reached.

What the Yankees did today was a slap in the face to Joe Torre. You don't cut the guys salary, then you add insult to injury and make the playoffs a 'performance' incentive? What, Torre didn't WANT to win in the playoffs these past 7 years? Give me a break! Yankee Prez. Levine wanted Torre out, he got his wish! Torre didn't leave, he got pushed under the bus.

Joe was good enough. He has a proven track record of success. He was disrespect and then he was discarded like trash. I guess Joe Torre now knows what it feels like to be Black? It's impossible to seeking approval from someone that doesn't want you. Now it's not a Black thang. Boo ya, Yankees!
