According to TMZ, the former Mr. Halle Berry (yes, he was a baseball player too) David Justice's home has been destroyed by the wildfires in Southern California.
Justice isn't the only sports figure affected by the raging SoCal flames. LaDainian Tomlinson, Shaun Phillips, Shawne Merriman and Luis Castillo were among several San Diego Chargers players, coaches and staff members who had to evacuate their homes.
The San Diego fires forced the Chargers to practice in Arizona this week, and there's speculation that San Diego's scheduled home game this Sunday against the Texans will most likely be moved to Dallas. (Not to mention debate over whether the NFL should move or simply cancel the game.)
Although Justice's home burned to the ground, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports the homes of Tomlinson and former San Diego Padres player Phil Nevin did not.

A study suggests people believe information they pick up through the grapevine --- and make decisions based on it -- even when facts contradict the gossip. "It is evident that gossip has a strong manipulative potential," the researchers write.

Justice ought to be happy that his ex didn't cut off his firehose. Because he would really be messed up for life.

Commitment
Make a positive commitment to yourself, to learning, work, family, friends, nature, and other worthwhile causes. Praise yourself and others. Dream of success. Be enthusiastic.
Control
Keep your mind focused on important things. Set goals and priorities for what you think and do. Visualize to practice your actions. Develop a strategy for dealing with problems. Learn to relax. Enjoy successes. Be honest with yourself.
Challenge
Be courageous. Change and improve each day. Do your best and don't look back. See learning and change as opportunities. Try new things. Consider several options. Meet new people. Ask lots of questions. Keep track of your mental and physical health. Be optimistic.
Studies show that people with these characteristics are winners in good times and survivors in hard times.

I hate to hear he lost his home in the fire, but the good thing is he was not physically harmed so he can replace man made things. However I do understand sentimental value...but he will be just fine.

@melabbo and any other insensitive pricks, he's got three kids all under the age of 8, think about that for a second. He never cheated on nor abused Halle, despite what you may think. She even says so in the February 5, 1997 USA Today Baseball Weekly, and May 13, 1996 issue of People Magazine, both published after they were divorced. So if Halle says nothing happened, why do you think something did? By the way, Halle does admit being beaten by a former boyfriend, around 1990-91 before she met Justice...likely either Christoper Williams or Wesley Snipes. But your informed opinion was good too.
