WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. And now for the biggest news in baseball today ... other than the Red Sox winning that little thing called the World Series ... no biggie ... Alex Rodriguez has opted out of his $252 million, 10-year Yankees contract.
Make no mistake, every year a Yankee will try and most likely succeed in stealing the postseason spotlight -- regardless if the team is playing or not.
And what better night to steal the spotlight than the night the Boston Red Sox win the World Series.
Classy, not trashy.
"I don't want anybody on my team that doesn't want to be a Yankee."
I'm not sure what A-Rod's agent, Scott Boras, was attempting to accomplish by announcing Rodriguez is testing the free agent market during the World Series. I mean, for people who think of A-Rod as a cry baby or a punk, or a postseason loser ... this move certainly won't change their mind.
The golden question is which team will be able ... other than the Yankees ... to pay Rodriguez the $30 million a year that Boras and Rodriguez are demanding?
Ironically, the team that could is the Boston Red Sox. Too bad for Alex though, the Sox just proved they don't really need him. (Sweeping the World Series and what not .. no biggie.)

I believed A-Rod show know loyalty to his previous
employers by opting our of his contract. He could have
listen to the Yankee offer then Test the Free Agent
market. I assumed he really wanted out of New York.

A-Rod doesn't want to play for the Yankees any more. Who would want to play for a team who's fans boo you every chance you come home? Give me a break! Now, they're all crying they won't have him any more.

HE PASSES UP SEVENTY MILLION DOOLARS.I CAN'T IMAGINE THIS. HE'S NOT A BALL PLAYER ANYMORE. HE'S A MERCENARY. THEY BOOED HIM BECAUSE HE BATTED 350 PLUS DURING SEASON AND BARELY 200 IN THE PLAYOFFS.NO ONE IS WORTH THAT MUCH. GIVE ME THE 70 MILLION.

A-Rod is not what the Yankee's need. He is not a team player. He's about A-Rod. The Yankee's are a team not a homerun club. I've never seen him do well in any playoff game. Sure he hits homeruns for stats but he can't hit them for wins.

No player is bigger than the game. Any owner stupid enough too pay XL loot to one player for a team sport deserves to lose. Where ever "A-Fraud" goes, it has to be a big market team willing to gut their roster a BIG (playoff) CHOKE!
