I must've missed the memo that declared hanging nooses and white college kids donning blackface cool and in vogue.See, the funny thing is ... it's really not that funny ... at all. It's actually quite racist, but members of the football team at a Minnesota school decided to give it the old' college try anyway:
Hamline University has suspended six players from its football team for donning blackface and body paint to dress up as African tribesmen for an off-campus Halloween party, an incident that has sparked a discussion about racial sensitivity at the St. Paul liberal arts college. [...] Two cheerleaders who helped the players with their costumes and reportedly posted photos of them on the Internet social-networking site Facebook with a caption about "spooks" are also under investigation.
Once again, not that amusing. Dressing up like a slutty nurse, skanky cop or dirty [enter noun] for Halloween will make a few people chuckle here and there. Being an idiot who sports blackface then posts the pics on Facebook, that's just a little sick. (Note: not funny.)
Like those who hung nooses in the Jena Six case, the Minnesota students in blackface defend their actions by saying things such as it was only supposed to be a "joke" and that they're not racist, but "misunderstood." (All while probably thinking, "I have a black friend, I can't be racist.")
What's there to misunderstand? You went to a Halloween party sporting a symbol of racism on your face. What? Did you also think 'Schindler's List' was a comedy?
Concluding that Kevin Federline is Father of the Year because he is slightly more responsible than Britney Spears. Misunderstanding.
Assuming Dr. Dre is a physician trained in the healing arts and licensed to practice some type of medicine. Misunderstanding.
Wearing blackface or hanging up a noose as a "joke"? Dumb and racist.
In Minnesota and elsewhere, this isn't the first time students masquerading as blacks have stirred up controversy.
Early this year, Macalester College in St. Paul condemned an incident where a student in blackface wore a noose around his neck, accompanied by a student dressed as a Ku Klux Klan member, at a campus house party. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is investigating a case of four white students who dressed in blackface the weekend before Halloween to portray Jamaican bobsledders from the movie "Cool Runnings." Last month, four Colorado College hockey players, including two from Minnesota, were suspended after going to a golf outing in blackface to portray characters from the TV show "Family Matters."
Perhaps the costume store was sold out of Hitler's Nazi uniform.
An investigation is currently underway looking into what the students' intent was. If the investigation finds that a university policy was violated, the students would go in front of a judicial board, where they could get a warning or even a suspension from school.

Blacks are the most racist of all. They can dish it out, but can't take it them selfs.
When I was a kid, 7 years old. five older black kids chast me for five blocks. [because I'm white], the only way I got away from them was I made it home. they were going to beat the shit out of me. Why, I'm white, that was the only reason they needed. All I was doing was walking home from shcool, by may self. five on one. Is this how blacks, have to do it. in big numbers?

Where I live blacks are killing blacks and latinos are killing blacks so some white person in blackface is not at the top of my concerns, and a noose only hurts if it is around my neck....That is all.

I don't know why anybody would be surprised. This is America! The free land where racism and idiots reign supreme! Just listen to the "get over it" mentality of Jethro and the other Yahoos, who log on and comment how "blacks are killing blacks" and how "I wish everybody would stop crying". Racists hate just for the sake of hating, and then they blame those who their "jokes and pranks" are directed towards, claiming "we're just playing" and "you're too sensitive". These same idiots only say these things anonymously, because they've traded their "hoods" and "horses" for "suits & ties". Land where racist and idiots can thrive and be proud of their most disgusting efforts, characterize their intentions as "pranks" or "jokes", and justify themselves by claiming that "blacks are killing blacks" and so why not allow whites to have fun? The purport the basis for outrage is a bunch of overly sensitive N#@#@% who should just "get over it", the way any raped child should just "get over it", the way a robbery victim should just "get over it", that is what the perpertrator always wants, right? Blame the one offended, blacks should worry about drugs, and nobody should get offended when "white people make black jokes" because there are "more serious" problems in our communities, correct? I'm so glad we got so many racist to look out for us, cause we sho' need'n y'alls be help'n, sir!!! PS I don't want to leave out all the shoe-shuffling, toe-tapping, yes-sir blacks who agree whole-heartedly that a few "colored jokes is good for society", and Imus and Keith are "good white folk", no matter what comes out of their mouth. Has anyone taken a close look at the latest new thang in our youth? I think it's called "Clowning or Clown Dancing." They used stripper moves in "White Face" to draw crowds and have fun. Wow, you mean our kids can dress up in White Face and we say nothing? This is exactly why we must get over the sensitivity. We can make millions by shamelessly exploiting the things that were designed originally to hurt us. The first rule of beating up a bully is punch him in the nose. The second rule of a bully is don't let his words hurt you. How are we ever going to earn respect? The bully stops when he knows you just won't run or cry. Don't be a victim. That's the Sharpton way!

Blacks will "get over it" when all blacks become white, or pink, or
purple. Anything but black. It has often been stated of many crase
phrases and acts, or misunderstandings when an individual misses the
point, "you had to be there." You have to be BLACK in order to know
what it is like to still have to deal with this idiocy.
Again,"you have to be black" to understand why these acts of
stupidity and prejudice truly tick black people off. Therefore, since
those of you continue to mouth get over it, you need to be on the
constant receiving end of this bovine scatology. Get over it indeed.
