Tennis superstar Venus Williams has been a leader in raising awareness of gender equality, playing a key role in persuading the World Tennis Association to finally pay female and male players equally.
I'm guessing Venus' new hairdo, what TMZ's calling the "Zac Efron shag" was essential to her "we can even look like boys, so pay us like boys" campaign.
I think it worked.
However, the reigning Wimbledon Women's Singles champ won't be showing off her shag on the court, as she withdrew early on due to some health issues.
Get 'em next time girl (who's banking just as much as a guy)!

I think that the Williams sisters are strong black women who stand up for what they believe in. And I think that it was a long time coming it should have been equal pay all the time. People talk about them but it doesn't bother them. We should stop putting our people down that's our problem when someone in our race get on top some of us are like crabs trying to pull them back down with the rest.They do a lot for there people. Keep up the good work.

to cecil jones...are you aware that women's tennis in general and venus and serena specifically are the reason more people watch and attend tennis matches. that being said, wouldn't you agree (based on your own principles) that women tennis players should make MORE money than male players since they are the reason we watch?

What is this new look? She should have worn a natural style. I think the style is ugly and hideous. It looks like fake hair. She should have simply worn a short afro. I don't like it at all. She looks like a male "drag queen. UGH!

She looks great. Sounds like folks (male folks) are not pleased that a woman can be Athletic, strong and confident. There is much more to being a woman than her hair.

Venus is a HERO. She not only took the entire game to the next level- but she is fighting for the pay of ALL women players. Nothing infuriates me more when people try and disrespect her.

Women should get paid the same as men in tennis when they play five sets like the men. As for the hair, BAHAHAHAHA!
