Redskins' safety Sean Taylor is not coming into work today. Not because he feels like playing a game of hooky. Not because work has turned into a never-ending version of 'Office Space.' And certainly not because he's in the middle of some huge contract renegotiation.
No, the reason Sean Taylor isn't coming into work today is tragic but simple. It's because he can't. He's dead.
The Redskins are 5-6 and sinking fast in the wildcard picture. How they turn the ship around to sail into the playoffs doesn't really matter now. At least, it doesn't matter in the way it did before Monday.
Taylor was a punishing hitter (a quality Redskins' fans grew to love), nicknamed "Meast" because he was thought of as half-man and half-beast. He was on the cusp of becoming a major playmaker. He was one of the most feared hitters in the NFL. If Sean Taylor hit you on the field, there was a good chance you could get knocked out.
And yet none of that really matters in the same way anymore.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is calling the death of the Redskins safety a "terrible tragedy" that has left many people struggling to understand it.
Count me as one of those people still struggling. It was just a few Sundays ago I went home to watch the Cowboys-Redskins game with my mom. Following just about every other play she would utter, "If Sean were playing there's no way Terrell Owens would have caught that."
Maybe. Now we'll never know.
It's hard to understand why someone so talented and so young isn't here with us anymore.

My heart goes out to his family. I will pray for them and for his critics. People spoke harshly of Jesus so why would we expect anything different of others? There is a God, and he will see us through. Be Blessed.

Who says you can't make sense of this? You mean that "YOU" can't make any sense of it. Smoke this over for a few puffs: Taylor comes downstairs to deal with noises with only a knife (machete). Did somebody know that he didn't believe in or have any guns in the house. And we also have a cut phone wire. What burglar have time to look for phone wires? And no REAL burglar would trust the "phony" phone wiring made to look like it's real, knowing that if you cut this, then it's going to alert the alarm monitoring company. Why was the first thing to come out was the fact that the phone wires was cut in the first place? Do the phrase "misdirection" come to mind? Those were some of the things that his girl told the police. This was an inside job people. Somebody is NOT the "babyDADDY" and it was about to come to light. MARK my word. THE fiancee will be arrested alone with their baby, whoops with others.
