Is Randy Moss Going to Rep for Pony?

Randy Moss got hooked up by signing a three-year deal to stay with the New England Patriots for a cool $27 million earlier this week. Now it's looking like some endorsements may be coming down the pike as well. According to CNBC's Darren Rovell, Pony is close to bringing on Randy Moss as a lead endorser to resurrect the company. Pony hasn't really been hot since the 70's when Pele', Muhammad Ali and Reggie Jackson were sporting the gear.

In the last eight years Pony has signed folks like Chris Mihm, James Toney, Pete Rose and Ricky Davis to endorse the brand, but none of them have had the reach to compete with the likes of Nike, adidas or Reebok. It's looking like Pony is hoping Moss will get them over that hump. According to Rovell, Moss was one of the first Nike Jordan Brand endorsers but that deal ended a couple of years ago. In the 2005 and 2006 seasons Moss covered up his shoe logos with tape, but during last season's AFC Championship he wore Reebok and during the Super Bowl he wore Nike. Were they just one game endorsement deals? Regardless, we may see Moss rockin' Pony shoes and jogging suits next year.
