Back in 2006 Ron Artest dropped his debut album, My World, on his Tru-Warier Records imprint. Although it wasn't that well-received, he managed to go on tour with the likes of Fat Joe, Young Jeezy, and Fat Joe to promote the album and get a little bit of respect for his stage presence.
"I realize that even though I have some sort of celebrity established as a basketball player, I'm still a new, up-and-coming artist and I have to work hard, do my grind, and prove myself, just like any other new artist does," Artest told us back in 2006. "I always knew there were going to be people who don't take me seriously as an artist; those people probably don't take any ball player seriously who's trying to do music. And there are always haters, everywhere you go. But I do take music seriously, and hopefully when I release my second album, people will understand that I'm serious about this."
Lately, Artest has been making his rounds on the mixtape circuit. Although he has no album planned for this year, the rapping baller will be appearing on and hosting several mixtapes including DJ Hurricane's "Kings in Da Game, Vol. II" and DJ Metro Dee's "Co-Signing Vol. 8: Tru Gangstas" which will be featured on an upcoming episode of MTV's "Mixtape Monday" towards the end of April. Ron Ron sent us two tracks that'll be heard on various mixtapes, one is a freestyle of sorts over some beats of popular hip-hop hits and another is an original song called "My Doe". Check it out!

Ron, this is garbage! You can rap all day but no one is going to buy this crap. I bet you paid Fat Joe to hang out with you. Anyone who thinks Ron should pursue rapping (as wack as he is) is lying to him and themselves.
