If you ever make your way to Green Bay, Wisconsin, one cat you wouldn't want to step to is Packers running back Noah Herron. You might end up with a bedpost upside your head. Last Friday, Herron called 911 when he heard glass breaking on the lower level of his house in Green Bay. He told police that an unknown number of people entered his house. Herron unscrewed one of his bedposts from his bed and when one of the intruders tried to enter his bedroom, he took the bedpost to his dome.
The burglar was taken to the hospital and police arrested a second suspect outside of Herron's house.
"Noah Herron used necessary, reasonable and justifiable force in protecting his life and property,'' Brown County Sheriff Dennis Kocken said in a statement. "Herron, the victim in this random home invasion, is cooperating with law enforcement.''

HEY, YOU GOTTA DEFEND YOURSELF AT ANY COST ESPECIALLY YOUR OWN LIFE. I MEAN, HE WHACKED SOME DUMBASS UPSIDE THE HEAD WITH A BEDPOST...THAT WAS FUNNY AS HELL! NEXT TIME HE SHOULD GET MORE WEAPONS ADDED TO HIS ARSONAL(STEEL CLUB, A BAT, SLEDGEHAMMER) OR A GUN TO PROTECT HIMSELF AND HIS FAMILY. I COMMEND HIM FOR HOLDIN IT DOWN AT HIS CRIB. THEY SHOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE THEY ROB ANYBODY'S HOME.

Served the clown right - now when he wakes up with Bubba's arms around him, he will know that the last thing he should do is complain of a headache - he will get a pain someplace else....

OK, NO DISRESPECT, AS MUCH AS I LIKE SEAN TAYLOR. HE COULD'VE HAD A GUN INSTEAD OF A KNIFE, YAH KNO. THAT WAY HIS LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN SAVED. BUT TO NOAH HERRON ALL I GOTTA SAY IS: U ARE ONE LUCKY SON OF A BITCH.

I'm lovin' this story! Herron did what he was supposed to do to protect his. But since our bed posts don't unscrew, I prefer my 9mm anyway. I'm a peaceful person by nature, and I pondered long and hard about buying a weapon, but in these times you better have something because the police can't protect you, and you're living in la-la land if you believe they can. I would hate it if I had to kill someone - that's just not me - but I'm not going to be just another helpless statistic either. The yellow tape around my home won't be for me - but for whoever kicks in my door, or steps through one of my windows. And I'm not firing to wound - I'm firing for vitals -I don't want to see this same perp after he recovers and tries again. You go Herron - but get you some power for next time - not a bed post.

You know he had good furniture, so a solid wood post, with an NFL player swinging it, that burglar is lucky to just have a concussion.

If you make your apartment looks occupied while you are away, then you have an opportunity to decrease substantially the chance of burglary. Lights and noise are the best burglar deterrents. I have found two products that can potentially work extremely well as burglar deterrents. These are CDs with prerecorded household sounds. You can let the CD play nonstop while you are away. Two sites make similar products: www.DeterrentSounds.com and www.audioguard.com.
