The 2008 NBA Draft is going down today and nobody knows where anybody is going, but at least O.J. Mayo knows he's got an endorsement deal with Nike. According to our good friend Darren Rovell at CNBC, Mayo signed a four-year deal with Nike making him the first rookie of this year's class to sign a major shoe endorsement deal."It's a great deal," Mayo's marketing agent Maverick Carter, CEO of LRMR Marketing, told Rovell. "This is the best company for him. There was discussions with other brands about giving him more money if he was drafted into a bigger market like New York or Los Angeles, but Nike showed they really wanted him because they didn't care what market he was in."
According to many mock drafts, Mayo is projected to go at #3 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in tonight's draft with Derek Rose projected at going #1 to the Chicago Bulls and Michael Beasley projected at #2 to the Miami Heat. If Mayo goes at #3 he's looking to make a guaranteed $12.5 million for his first three years in the league.

Putting aside he may have committed ncaa violations, this may be his second chance, if it doesnt come back to haunt Mayo. However, I hope he get paid and dont lose his damn mind like other black players from the past/present. He need to invest wisely, buy what he needs and surround himself with wise people.

OJ first things first you need a name change ala Packman to Adam OJ you need to work hard because there are alot of 6-3 swingmen out there ala harold minor. Oj you have a cloud of suspicion over your head you need to do the Kevin Garnett reduce your visibility to the public retreat to the House with a personal trainer and train your ass of as if your life literally depended on it and for God sake get the scoundrels and jackals and crows from around you. God bless you with success. Peace
