Lisa Leslie has been the backbone of the WNBA since it was launched way back in 1997 and has been down with the U.S. Women's Olympic Basketball team since 1996. She already has three gold medals (1996, 2000, and 2004), and is looking towards her fourth next month, in what she says will be her last Olympic appearance."When people asked me before, I said I never know," she told the L.A. Times. "But I see it, for the first time in my career, that yeah, there's an afterlife, so to speak. So, yes, this will be my last Olympics, that's official."That makes this last trip a bit more meaningful, one more time to get that Olympic gold. Leslie is nearing the end of her basketball career, at age 36, and with a one year old daughter, she's determined to finish her Olympic career undefeated.
"I see it," she said. "I truly believe we have the best team in the world, the best players in the world, and I believe that we can perform at our best for eight straight games and get it done. To have a fourth gold medal -- why not? That's my motto. Why not me? Somebody's got to win the gold. Why not me?"

Lisa, you go girl!
I hated it when that dumb Lauren Jackson yanked your hair during a pivotal game in a previous Olympics; but that just seemed to fire you up even more! We will be rooting for you.

Lisa is the best!
When it comes to heart and chances to take the gold, my money's on the U.S. Women's Team. (Yes, I said it: Even over the U.S. Men's Team). The Ladies Rule!

The comment about a house negro playing basketball. You are one of the ones that don't have any sports skilss and are hating on those who have. Don't hate you should be happy that we have players that can respresent the USA with Good Morals and Values.

WHY DO SOME PEOPLE ALWAYS SEEM TO HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING DUMB ABOUT SOMEONE OR SOMETHING THAT IN THE BIG REALM OF THINGS, IS GOOD FOR AMERICA AND LIFE ITS SELF. JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE THIS THING CALLED FREEDOM OF SPEECH, SOME TIMES,THAT MAKES IT HARD FOR ME TO BELIEVE THAT WE REALY ADMIRE THE ONES BEFORE US WHO FOUGHT SO HARD FOR THAT RIGHT.
