For the last several years we've enjoyed watching Donovan McNabb and his mother, and other athletes' mothers, on the Campbell's Soup commercials. But now the momma's are being axed. According to a story from the Wall Street Journal, Campbell's Soup is changing it's campaign direction which doesn't include the mothers.
"LaDainian Tomlinson doesn't need his mom to tell him which products have protein and which products don't," Douglas Brand, brand manager for Chunky Soup, told the Wall Street Journal. "He's learned that for himself, and we've learned our consumers want to do that for themselves as well."The new ad campaign kicks off on September 4 and will feature LaDanian Tomlinson in one of five ads where his job on the field is compared to a blue collar job. Apparently the new campaign is saving Campbell's Soup some cash as well. Last year, the soup company signed Larry Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs, Devin Hester of the Chicago Bears and Maurice Jones-Drew of the Jacksonville Jaguars as well as their mothers to participate in the campaign. Will you miss the mommas?

The mommas made the commercials funny, I will miss the mommas, those commercials were the only thing that made Campbell soup interesting.
Who's going to believe LaDainian Tomlinson would really rather eat campbell's soup, with so many other better choices.
At least the mommas gave it credibility.

Who better to tell their boys what's best for them to eat than Mamma...I always enjoyed the adds. ,maybe campbells had better rethink this....
