Shaquille O'Neal has only been a Phoenix Sun for like half a season, but he's really good friends with Grant Hill. And when friends get to talking and sharing thoughts, wild ideas come about. One of their ideas is to buy the Orlando Magic when they retire from the league, and they're pretty serious about it. They've even talked about it with CEO and president Bob Vander Weide, the son-in-law of Magic owner Rich DeVos according to the Sacramento Bee's Scott Howard-Cooper."Yeah, it's serious," Shaq told Howard-Cooper. "Grant, who's like my best friend now, we have a relationship with the DeVos family. So we always throw out Grant president, me general manager. We always throw that out just to see what they say. Hopefully, they bite that. But if not, just put together a group and try to get something somewhere. I've mentioned it to Bob Vander Weide and he laughs. But I know they love Grant as president. I know they like that idea. I always try to ride Grant's coat tails. Hey, Grant's the president. He's better looking, better spoken and can do the president. But I can be the general manager. I can get stuff done."
Both Shaq and Hill have homes Orlando, they both played with the Magic and they're both rich. Thing is, the team isn't for sale and there's no inkling that the owners want to sell the team. But Shaq and Hill were told that if the team was up for sale, that their offer would be listened to first.
"I think both of us have a lot of respect for the DeVos family and Bob Vander Weide in particular. I don't really have any aspirations to get into management, but ownership is something that we've talked about," Hill said. "It remains to be seen whether they'll sell the team. But if that were to happen, we've certainly talked amongst ourselves and talked amongst some potential investors, so we certainly could get it done. I feel kind of weird talking about it because it's not for sale and we do have a lot of respect for the DeVos family. It's hypothetical. It could never happen. They may keep it in the family."

I sincerely respect the endeavor. Why not strive to own a basketball team when realistically its possible. Grant Hill and Shaq have been pillars of the NBA for over a decade. Grant Hill is a guy anyone in business would be honored to be associated with and I feel that if they were to pursue an ownership stake they would lead that franchise to success. I am very happy to hear that they are in a position to pursue their dreams. God Bless...

Big Up to Mr. Oneal and Mr. Grant for putting this endeavor in the air. I think if the Amway family would part with the franchise It would be a solid purchase. I believe a strong enough financial package could be put together. Mr. Tiger Woods and Mr. Julius Erving should also be brought in as partners/investors. Lets Get it Done. Good Luck

I WOULD DEFINITELY BE A ORLANDO MAGIC FAN WITH SHAQ
AND GRANT PART-OWNERS OF THE TEAM.
MICHAEL JORDAN HAS BEEN TRYING TO BUY INTO A TEAM.
MAYBE THEY WOULD INCLUDE HIM IN THE DEAL.

The good thing about this is that when these two buy a team they will ACTUALLY own it & be able to make "business decisions". unlike Jay-Z, Ursher,Nelly etc.. who have like 1% ownership in the teams they so called are part owners of.
