Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb has been having a rough time on the field up until last week's win. He was even benched in a recent game because of his play. But could it have been because in the back of his mind he's been worried about his wife who was pregnant with twins? McNabb's teammate Brian Dawkins went through a stressful time when his wife was having complications with her pregnancy and the birth of premature twins in 2007, which affected his play on the field.
" 'Dawk' and I, our situations were a lot similar. It's hard not to think about your wife going through something like that ... I can't sit here and say '(No, it wasn't) on my mind the previous weeks,'" McNabb told the Philly Daily News. "I tried not to let it affect my play, knowing that I didn't play as well as I wanted to in the previous weeks ... It's sort of a weight off your shoulders, knowing that everyone is healthy and everyone is fine."
On Tuesday, Donovan's wife, Roxy, gave birth to twins a boy and a girl. The couple also has a 4-year old daughter together named Alexis, although McNabb didn't want to reveal the names of his new children. Now with the stress off his shoulders, he hopes to focus on the huge upcoming game against the New York Giants.

I'm so happy for him & his family.
We as fans sometimes forget that the athletes have lives off the field and get stressed just like the rest of us. Now those who criticized him over a few bad games?...hater seats in the rear.
Go Eagles!

I am a Dallas Cowboy fan---yet, CONGRATS to Donovan and family! You're right, Phineinphilly, we sometimes forget the guys have lives off the field. However, in Dallas a majority wish Jessica Simpson wasn't so much a part of our QB, Tony Romo's life! Oh well!
Congrats again to the family!
