It appears that gambling may not be the only problem Charles Barkley. He may be looking for a designated driver for New Years too. The NBA great was arrested on suspicion of DUI early Wednesday morning in Arizona at a well-organized DUI checkpoint.According to a report, Barkley ran a stop sign in Scottsdale, Arizona around 1:30 am and was pulled over by a drunk driving task force. Barkley refused a breathalyzer test but was given a blood test, although the results of that test weren't immediately available.
Barkley was processed, released and took a cab home.
"There was nothing unusual about how he was taken into custody," Lt. Eric Shuhandler told AZ Central. "He was treated exactly like we treat anybody else."

For one thing, Barkley is always trying to tell someone else what they should be doing. He should take some advice "Don't Drink and Drive".

Mr. Barkely get some help with your addictions. I pray for you and your family in this time of need. With this new year could be a new beginning for you. TNT allows you to rant and rave and act like a complete asshole without a care for censorship. It now time to consider the TIME and seek professional help. Before you self destruct.

Oh boy here we go again. I am sick of all these celebrities who have enough money to hire a limo to take them home. There is no excuse for it; none whatsoever. I say "throw the book" at the sob. What I strongly object to is the "double-standards" that apply to people like him. I teach traffic violator school and DUI is one of the subjects that I address in my classroom. The bad news is DUI is often repeated. The average offender has driven drunk 110 times before they are stopped by the police.

Hey Charles,
You are lucky u came out of this with cuffs on ur wrist, a blood test and a cab ride home. Remember, u ran a "STOP" sign. Someone driving, that had the right of way, could have ended up harmed due 2 ur careless and reckless ways. Consider this a less learned. "DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE"

I love Charles' sense of humor, and his ability to think on his feet. It is very obvious that Charles thinks a lot of himself and doesn't care what anybody else thinks about what he does, thinks, or says.
I bought his book last week, "Who's Afraid of A Big Black Man". (The purchase price was $1.00). As I peruse his discourse on racism, I couldn't help thinking to myself that he had unadulturated audacity to make some of the negative commentary about black men, when he, himself, is probably one of the worse representation of black manhood. He loudly, flagrantly and blatantly brags that he is no role model for anybody, and branishes his behind for anyone to kiss who has even the slightest expectation for him to exemplify good, morale behavior for young black men. He, who elected to marry a white woman, and dare anybody to say a word about it, and he, who lives a life that does not involve "PAYING IT FORWARD", but rather ego-centrically involves spending hundreds-of-thousands of dollars pissing away money on gambling. What has Charles ever done positive for the black community for him to feel the right to self-righteously analyze and evaluate the negative impact of racism on African-American families, men, women and children.
This is a man who lives his life hedonisticly. It's all about what makes Charles feels good; the hell with anybody else.
I'm just saying...
SIDEBAR: I am really concerned about Charles' weight. He has gone from being overweight to being obese. His good looks are being absorbed into the layers of unsightly fat. I saw him being interviewed a few months ago, and he said that he was going to make a serious effort to lose the weight. I hope so. If not, the next news item that we might read about this Basketball Legend, just might be his OBITUARY.

i dont understand why a lot of entertainers and celebrities would not utilize a designated driver or person keep their name from going into the mud when they go out on events where they have a likely possibility to drink.
