Not too long ago, Baltimore Ravens defensive end Trevor Pryce was passionate about making music. When with the Denver Broncos for nine seasons, he built a nice recording studio in his house and launched a record label called Outlook Music. He even recorded an album, Rebel Music, but never released it. But now Pryce is looking at a new passion in life: writing movies. He recently sold a script to Sony Pictures, a children's film about wishes getting mixed up, and has a handful more being looked at."The more I did it, the more I started to enjoy it," Pryce told The Baltimore Sun. "Once you get one idea, that bug kind of bites you. You start seeing ideas everywhere. They start coming out of you real fast. Inspiration comes from a lot of different places, but it also comes from the question: What do I want to see?"
He's already sold a second screenplay and third one that's being shopped around. He's also working on a few television pilots, both for family and adults. He's already had stuff rejected and other ideas tweaked, but his feelings aren't hurt because at least you get other opportunities.
"I always tell movie executives, you don't understand how the NFL works," Pryce said. "If you're a quarterback and you can't throw the 10-yard out, you're going to get cut. But the difference is, they're not going to invite you back next year to see if you learned how to throw it. In Hollywood, I've had my agent send screenplays and they say, 'We don't like this one, but come back with your next one.'"
There's no word on the title of the upcoming film or when it will be released.
