One time sought after cornerback and kick return specialist, Adam 'Pacman' Jones, is jobless once again. The Dallas Cowboys released him this week. He was suspended for six games after getting in a fight with his security and barely contributed anything on the field for the team.

"He was surprised, and I think he was obviously somewhat hurt," Worrick Robinson, Jones' Nashville, Tenn.-based attorney, told the Associated Press. "At the same time, he understands the business behind what is happening here."

Coincidently, the day Jones is released; ESPN reports that he allegedly ordered a shooting on someone at an Atlanta strip club back in June 2007, a month after Jones was suspended for the season. When doing research for the report, ESPN reporter John Barr contacted the Cowboys and NFL offices and asked them for comments. Barr believes that this new information contributed to the release of Jones.

According to ESPN and Barr's "Outside the Lines" report, scheduled to air Sunday, the June 2007 shooting occurred outside a suburban Atlanta strip club. One of the shooting victims told "Outside the Lines" that he had a dispute with Jones inside the strip club and that not long after he and the two others left the club, a hail of bullets struck their car. The NFL knew about that incident, but charges were never brought against anyone because the victims did not see the shooter.

Jones denies all the allegations and even threatened ESPN for the report.

"It will be a lawsuit in a week against ESPN," Jones told the Dallas Morning News. "That's stupid. It's so stupid I have no more comments."

So far, no team has shown interest in signing Pacman.
