While the NFC was beating up the AFC in the NFL Pro Bowl over the weekend (NFC won 30-21), Denver Broncos' wide receiver Brandon Marshall was probably thinking about his happy future. The Pro Bowler announced that he asked his girlfriend Michi Nogami to marry him.

"It's me taking a step back and looking at what's important," Marshall told the Denver Post. "What really solidified it for me was coming out here and seeing guys, bachelors at the pool with their girlfriends, and then looking at guys like Peyton Manning and Troy Polamalu and Casey Wiegmann with their families. And looking at them, I said those are the guys I want to be. You could see their peace. That's what so important for me is to have peace. And this is the ultimate step to achieve that."

The couple met while they attended Central Florida and will decide on a date when they come home from the Pro Bowl festivities this week. Before last season, Marshall was going through all types of drama including arrests related to assault and domestic violence and an incident where he was wrestling with his brother, and crashed in an entertainment center, severely injuring his arm. The engagement is a step towards maturity.
