The Associated Press is reporting that L.A. Sparks superstar, Candace Parker gave birth to a baby girl on May 13. It's the first child for her and her husband Shelden Williams of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Although a name has yet to be released, the baby girl weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 inches long.

"Shelden and I are thrilled," Parker said in a statement. "This is such a life changing moment for us, we feel blessed to have a healthy and beautiful baby girl."

Parker made headlines when she became the first pregnant athlete to grace the cover of ESPN Magazine. The WNBA season begins on June 6 and Parker plans to rejoin her team as soon as her doctors give her the thumbs up. Last season, Parker averaged 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds a game. She also won a Gold medal with the women's team at the Beijing Olympics.
