First it was tennis, then fashion, followed by acting and now Serena Williams wants to break into writing for television. Williams in currently in the throes of competition at the Wimbledon Tournament in England but let the Associated Press know that she's writing a TV pilot inspired by her favorite shows "Desperate Housewives," "Family Guy," and "Sex and the City.""You'll be excited to know I wrote three parts already," she told the Associated Press' Steven Wine. "I was going to do it (Tuesday), but I started watching `Dexter' and I got a little sidetracked. You know what, today's a good day. I can write. For me it's really about being in the mood, and how I'm feeling."
Serena said her sister got her a screenwriting book which inspired her to give the writing thing a shot; although she strictly wants to stick with television right now instead of film.
"I don't know how good I would be at writing a movie," Williams said. "But I just love to write."

Serena Williams and Venus Williams have already written books. I read their book for young people and it is marvelous. Normally, Serena has a quick wit and a humorous outlook on life. In an interview at Wimbledon this week she had all the reporters laughing with her witty repartee. One journalist even told her that they were allowing Venus and her ( it was a joint interview with Venus)to "interview" each other by asking one question each. They let Serena ask her question first. She turned to look Venus squarely in the twinkling eye and asked her, "Are you ready to get out of here?" LOL Classic. Go for it, Serena! You have been successful at tennis,designing, acting, AND writing, already. And if anyone wants to whine about it, let them find another woman actively playing on the WTA tour who has won more majors. There is no one else. Serena Williams has won more major tournaments than any other current singles tennis player. And to show just HOW hard-working Serena is and just how WELL she can multi-task, she and Venus often win both the singles championship AND the doubles championship in the SAME tournament. how many others can say THAT? Gooooo, Serena! Gooooo, Venus! Gooooooo, Williams!!
