Michael Vick Quits Construction Job to Work with Children

According to the Associated Press, Michael Vick has left his $10-hour job with a construction company to work with the kids at a couple of local Boys & Girls Clubs. In accordance with his probation and finishing out his two-year sentence on house arrest, Vick is required to have a job.

Steven Kast, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, told the Associated Press that Vick will be working with children on health and fitness activities at a variety of locations in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Apparently, Vick frequented the Boys & Girls Club in Newport News in his youth.

Vick's lawyers were also in U.S. Bankruptcy Court this week working out a new plan that would allow creditors to receive future earnings. While Vick's sentence ends this month, the NFL still hasn't announced if he will be reinstated for the 2009-10 season. Plus, no teams have expressed official interest in signing him once he is free. It'll take Vick a long time to pay off creditors with a $10-hour salary.
