Looks like while David 'Big Papi' Ortiz was on the Boston Red Sox DL list, he was busy making moves for future businesses. Last month, Ortiz launched his own line of hot sauces called, what else but "Big Papi Hot Sauce." He has several levels of the hot sauce in terms of hotness - Original En Fuego, Monster Double En Fuego, Off the Wall Triple En Fuego, and Grand Slam En Fuego which is the hottest. And even though Ortiz loves his hot sauce, he's not as crazy as some other hot sauce fiends."I put hot sauce on pretty much everything," Ortiz told the Boston Globe. "But I like mild hot, not burning hot. Not crazy hot. It's not about being a tough guy. I'm telling you right now, number four (Grand Slam En Fuego) is pretty dang hot. I do not think a human being should try something hotter than that."
If you want to give his hot sauce a taste, you can order some at http://bigpapienfuego.com. But there also may be some at a new restaurant that he's helping to launch as well. In late July, there will be a Big Papi's Restaurant in Framingham, Mass. The restaurant will be a casual but upscale spot that serves chops, seafood, gourmet burgers, steaks, and salads. There's a possibility that more restaurants will open in the Boston area and near Fenway Park.
