More details are starting to come out about the murder of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and his 20-year old mistress Sahel Kazemi. According to the Associated Press, Nashville police believe that McNair was killed while he was sleeping. The evidence is leading investigators to believe that Kazemi shot McNair in the head while he slept on a couch, then shot him twice in the chest and then in the head once more. Before shooting herself, Kazemi apparently tried to position herself to fall on McNair's lap, but instead her body slid to the floor and lay at McNair's feet. The gun was found under her body.In interviewing Kazemi's friends, police found out that she was distraught over her relationship with McNair. One moment she was selling all her furniture thinking she was moving in with him and the next she was suspicious of him having another girlfriend. She was also stressed out because she was making payments on two cars, one of which she shared with McNair, and the rent on her apartment went up.
According to McNair's friends and associates, however, he had no plans to divorce his wife, Mechelle McNair, and they were actually looking for a new home. Since the shooting Mechelle has yet to speak publicly.
"Her faith is what's sustaining her now," Bishop Joseph W. Walker III of Mount Zion Baptist Church told the Associated Press. "We haven't talked about the circumstances of his death. She is processing it in a private way. It's obviously devastating on so many levels."
McNair's funeral is set for Saturday in Mississippi.

She looks crazy to me. If you live by the sword, you'll die by the sword. McNair involved himself with a nut-case and paid the consequences with his life. A piece of twenty-year-old tail. . . certainly wasn't worth dying over. What is wrong with these athletes, anyway? They think because they have fame, fortune and success they are somehow invincible. For heaven's sake, have some SELF-CONTROL and DISCIPLINE. Learn to say "no". Or, "I'm married and I don't condone affairs." Because something is offered doesn't mean you have to accept it. It's sad, really. McNair, as a pro athlete, probably spent six months (give or take a month) on the road because of his career, which took him away from his wife and family. And when the season ended, he spent time with this young girl while the wife held down the home front and took care of family business. McNair didn't consider that his wife needed more than financial support. Emotional support and his physical presence was needed at home.
I pray for McNair's wife and family. I hope other pro-athletes catch a CLUE and learn from this!

This child, and yes she was more of a child then my 3 years old niece, was emotionally disturbed. Left Iran after her mother was killed at the age of 9. Stayed with her sister until she was 16, and then took off to live with her boyfriend. Her life seemed to be full of flash and dash. McNair appeared to be the stability and love she longed for. Am I surprised of this outcome? No! Knowing what we all know now, we are blessed she did not take out his family!
For shame McNair, for shame.

I told my mom that exact thing!
Middle Easterners are raised differently, some of them are raised with the idea of suicide as an appropriate way out of bad situations. As evidenced by this murder/suicide Steve picked the wrong one. Someone who did not play!
Too bad his 4 sons will now pay the price!

I am really saddened by this tragic event. However, brothas have got to start thinking with the head between their shoulders versus the head between their legs. It just ain't worth it!! Now, his wife is without a husband, and his sons don't have their father. It just ain't worth it!!!

This should be a lesson for all, fame and fortune does not entitle you to WHATEVER you like...no matter rich or poor when you take vows should you consider them to be real. What happened is just terrible, but I blame him more than I blame this disturbed little girl. He was a married man and he had a responsibility and a covenant to protect and he didn't honor either. We all have consequences that we must face because of all or our actions~it is just ashame that his was fatal.
My heart and prayers go out to his wife, who is emotionally hurt now and devastated because not only did he betray her...he is now gone and she and her family are left to grieve.
