Most of the NFL is not interested in signing Michael Vick, but according to ESPN, there are at least five teams who may give the beleaguered quarterback a call. But in the meantime, Vick will be a guest on CBS' 60 Minutes on Sunday, according to USA Today. Sports broadcaster James Brown will conduct Vick's first interview since being released from a federal prison. The interview will most likely help Vick's public image, especially if he gives another public apology, as well as motivate the interested teams to give him a call before long.
Last week, Vick also spent some time with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, who is an avid animal rights activist. Simmons recently wrote about their conversation on his website, Globalgrind.com, and voiced his support for the quarterback and hopes that people will give him a second chance.
"I always look for the best in people and when Michael tells me that looking into the eyes of people who love and respect animals and seeing their pain and disgust - it changed him," Simmons wrote. "I choose to believe him, and realize that I may be in the minority amongst the animal rights community that I proudly am a part of. We can never undo the suffering those innocent dogs endured or bring back the many, many lives that were lost. All we can do is try using Michael Vick as an instrument, to stop dog fighting in the community while we save the lives of those innocent animals and change the karmic effect that will be felt by those who wake up and realize what they have done. That is my only prayer."

Whatever team Michael Vick end up on I will purchase two jerseys and wear them proudly. Michael never killed dogs he just bankrolled the business that his family and friend took part in. It is like americans who are against our military involvement in illeagal killings around the world, but we still bankrolling these killings with our paying taxes.

Exactly, well said. You need to shout this to the mountaintops until it penetrates the skulls of the ignorant people out there wanting to crucify this man for some b/s...that dog fighting business has been going on for years, I'm 49 and I remember it when I was a child. I don't condone it, but let's be real about Mike's involvement in it and if it's against the law, they need to start visiting the poor communities all over this country (and the world) that does it and shut 'em down...but don't make Mike the scapegoat for all. I'm so sick of America making Black people responsible for all of its' ills

I've had the displeasure of viewing his ring tapes as I work for an animal charity. He was every bit involved. You can believe what you want. It makes no difference to me. I wish all of his supporters could watch these videos. Even the most heartless of you would see him in a differnt light.

I wish people would just leave it alone. He has done his time for the crime and lost everything. We have made more of a deal about this than anyone killing a human being especially children. You never see people out protesting for humans or children like they do for animals and frankly I think a human life should be further up on the scale. If this have been a white quarterback he would have paid a hefty fine, done a few commericals spots and been able to continue to live without all this ruckus. You all know I'm telling the truth!

Michael Vick bankrolled dogfighting, ordered some dogs to be killed, big deal. I think the problem people are really having with Vick is that he was being paid so much money to play and he earned ever damn dime he made. vick didn't rob, steal, rape or kill anyone. Are Americans so shallow until they place more value on the life of a dog than that of a human.
