Most of the NFL is not interested in signing Michael Vick, but according to ESPN, there are at least five teams who may give the beleaguered quarterback a call. But in the meantime, Vick will be a guest on CBS' 60 Minutes on Sunday, according to USA Today. Sports broadcaster James Brown will conduct Vick's first interview since being released from a federal prison. The interview will most likely help Vick's public image, especially if he gives another public apology, as well as motivate the interested teams to give him a call before long.
Last week, Vick also spent some time with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, who is an avid animal rights activist. Simmons recently wrote about their conversation on his website, Globalgrind.com, and voiced his support for the quarterback and hopes that people will give him a second chance.
"I always look for the best in people and when Michael tells me that looking into the eyes of people who love and respect animals and seeing their pain and disgust - it changed him," Simmons wrote. "I choose to believe him, and realize that I may be in the minority amongst the animal rights community that I proudly am a part of. We can never undo the suffering those innocent dogs endured or bring back the many, many lives that were lost. All we can do is try using Michael Vick as an instrument, to stop dog fighting in the community while we save the lives of those innocent animals and change the karmic effect that will be felt by those who wake up and realize what they have done. That is my only prayer."

Michael Vick deserves another chance in life, but not on the foot ball field. Playing foot ball is a privilage not a right. Something has got to be wrong with a grown black millionaire who has nothing else better to do with his time.

I think the bloggers on this sight need to be educated about how Michael Vick killed these innocent dogs. Hopefully some level headed defensive player in the league will take a cheap shot on Vick. Make him feel some pain. Thats right go for his leg. .

Ok we all came to the understanding that what mike vick did to those dogs were cruel and harsh but everyone deserves a second chance....should his career really be over because of this? I don't think so. I am pretty sure u did some Bull-s*** in ya life that you wanted certain people to forgive u and give u a second chance also. Matter of fact I am pretty sure u may have done something that u think will disgust the rest of us and u are ashamed to even bring it to light because of what the outcome may be against you.

I am a huge Mike Vick fan and I am also a proud Philadelphian...born and raised. I never cared for the Eagles until now. I am routing for them all the way and hopefully with Mike on their team they will win a superbowl....Mcnabb and Vick? We are going all the way this year baby!

I agree with Rosalie Brown, people seem to care more about the life of an animal then they do of a human being. A human gets killed every day and we listen to it on the news and in less than twenty-four hours we move on, but he kills dogs (which I find is also wrong and cruel) and we're ready to behead him. He served his time in jail he lost money and yet you still want more. We have people take other people's life and some just get a slap on the wrist are you people really serious. I think it's more about who does the killing then who or what gets killed.

To all you hypocrites and turncoates shut up about MV and be sure not to attend or watch any of the eagles games that will lead them to win the superbowl. Welcome Michael Vick to philadelphia and the eagles team.

Im excited to see him back...although we are both African American, I support him because of his talent not his color. I think that Michael is a talented football. I believe that we people are hating on you for doing something and do not want you to succeed anymore, thats when God makes the decision to shut them up and prove them wrong.

ANGELA, Don't forget it was a white man that ended slavery too. Don't forget that you were brought here by your own people. I will personally pay for you to go back to Africa. But you have to promise to stay there.
