Serena Williams, the #2 ranked women's tennis player, was expected to go to the U.S. Open finals this weekend to compete for the title one again. But in her semifinal match against Kim Clijsters, Serena yelled at a line judge for calling a foot fault when she was two points away from losing to Clijsters. What did she say?
Well, according to the line judge, after the foul was called, Serena stepped toward her, shaking the ball, and said "If I could, I would take this ... ball and shove it down your ... throat." The line judge also said that Serena threatened to kill her. Serena did admit to yelling at the judge but denies saying that she threatened to kill her. Regardless, Serena was called for unsportsmanlike conduct and a point was given to Clijsters, which happened to be match point. ...

In the aftermath, Serena was fined $10,000 and may face further consequences, according to the Associated Press. "The average individual would look at that and say, 'a $10,000 fine for what she did? What are you guys, crazy?' The answer is: the process isn't over," tournament director Jim Curley said.
"What she did was unacceptable. It's unacceptable behavior under any circumstances," Curley added. "When you're on the court, and you are waving your racket toward a lines person and using profanity, it's just simply unacceptable. When you look at the tape, it's pretty clear that the way she approached the lines person, with her racket and in that manner, it was a threatening manner. It certainly was."

Of course what she did is unacceptable. However, when you have been the victim of the racism of a system for so long, any human being will eventually break. It is time to work towards bringing equality to this sport to prevent things like this from happening. Where is the replay to confirm calls made by line judges that affect the outcomes of games like this??? This would prevent future players from possibly feeling they have to take matters into their own hands and limit their frustration.

We live in a country that has over 300 million people in it, 30% of this country will all ways have some excuse to go against what ever is postive for this country and they will base that preception on nothing but the color of skin tone. they fight with all their might to get their ideas and beliefs to others to swell their ranks. It is the mission of every righteous thinking person to oppose them when ever it is possible. If we relax or feel that they are not worth the time, it will be to our great fault when we look around and find that this great country has gone to shit.

I hear you Sista Shantrell... Kanye and Serena got to STOP apologizing to WHITE AMERIKKA. That KKK white boy called the President a LIAR and he is a HERO, money pouring in like rain. Refuses to apologize to the HOUSE and he is supported by the RepubliKKKan Party. Federer uses profanity against the Umpire and their is NO outrage. Serena and Venus should boycott the US OPEN, show some black pride. Let HONKY play wit themselves.

I think Serena and Venus should boycot the US Open.
I have not heard anyone comment on the fact that the line judge made two bad calls. If the line judge had make correct calls all of this could have be avoided. I feel Serena anger on the court.

They did the same thing at the French open a couple years ago when Justine Henin held up her hand palm forward to stop play, and when Serena saw that and did not return the ball, the Judge ordered to the point to go to Henin. McEnro, while giving commentary referred to Oudin as the American while referring to the Williams sisters just by their names. I believe that it took too long for one of them to give vent against the primitive prejudice that emits from some white sport commentators.
Look at the Michael Vick issue. Everyone of his critics who has pet dogs either spay or clamp their nuts. Why isn't that cruelty to animals. You mean to tell me that a male dog, if he had a choice, would choose being emasculated over fighting in a cage. These people who criticize Vick are monumental hypocrites, and the world is damn dumb for buying into that hypocrisy
