On Tuesday, a New York judge officially sentenced former New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of attempted criminal possession of a weapon, stemming from an incident in which he accidentally shot himself in the thigh. With good behavior, Burress could only serve 20 months and be out in spring 2011.

Burress went to the hearing with his son in his arms and was accompanied by his pregnant wife, grandmother, father and stepmother. After the judge read the sentence Burress addressed the court, saying "I apologize to my family. ... I thank everyone for their support."

Burress then hugged and kissed his wife and son as everyone teared up. He was taken into custody and whisked away to Rikers Island. He will also be spending a majority of his sentence at Fishkill Correctional Facility in upstate New York. Check out the video of Burress arriving at the courthouse and with his family leaving.
