Ever since Jamaican track star Usain Bolt started breaking all types of records, sports fans have been hoping that he would try his hand at another sport. Football, basketball and soccer have all come up as possibilities, but Bolt is opting out all of that talk."I wouldn't want to play in the NFL," Bolt told the Associated Press. "If I did, I'd want to play running back, but they say I'm too tall. They would want me to play wide receiver. They get hit too much. I'm not in the mood to be hit that much. I would definitely give soccer more consideration."
Instead, Bolt wants to concentrate on cementing his name in sports history. Even though he'll already be mentioned among great track stars, he feels like he still has more work to do.
"I want to be a legend in the sport. For me, it's all a focus on winning championships after championships," Bolt said. "I don't consider myself a legend. When I defend my titles, I will consider myself a legend."
Bolt will be defending his records at the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, and the 2012 London Olympics. In the meantime, he'll be partying like every other superstar athlete. Bolt is currently organizing a Super Party in Jamaica to celebrate his accomplishments and his country. The party will go down Dec. 4 and 5 in St. Ann.
"I have been lucky to be given the chance to meet so many wonderful and talented athletes from all around the world, and I believe that if I can create the opportunity for youngsters to meet, interact and work with top-class professional athletes, it will be one of my greatest achievements," Bolt said. "I want to invite some of these professionals who I have met to come enjoy the weekend with me, and also to spend time with some youngsters and share their knowledge and experience with them."

Why would he want to play in the NFL. He will make tons of money running, won't have to take the physical abuse that occurs every weekend in the NFL, and he's on a world stage not just the US.
Soccer is a bigger sport than football, except in the US. It make more sense for him as a second sport.
It a proven fact the NFL isn't always a gateway to riches. Look at the number of NFL players who file bankruptcy. I say more power to Usain and keep running!!!!

As fast as a lightning bolt, the worlds fastest man made a good decision not to play NFL football.
After playing youth and high school football, I thought it would be a breeze at the college level, but the college level is a different ball game, and the players are much faster and larger. Only a few hundred players from college out of over a hundred thousands make the NFL. Bolt is the worlds fastest man but the game of football has to be lerned over a period of years. Only a hand full of Olympic stars have made the trnsition to the NFL. Bob Hayes from Florida A&M University and Willie Gault made a name in the NFL, but a many other Olympic stars did not make it.Remember Housten Mctear tried out and could not catch a wide open pass all alone, and he was the worlds fastest man at one time. Bolt is a very entellegent athelete, and his comment reflect's his personality as a man
of good character. Bolt is an inspiration not only to his country but to people all over the world.

Its no doubt Mr. Bolt will go down in history as the current "World's Fastest Man", maybe he should extend himself a little further in track and field, a la Carl Lewis, I think he would be perfect for the long jump, with all that speed and a little co-ordination, he'd consistently jump out of the pit!!!

Bolt is one of fastest men I have seen in my life time. Iam 57 years old and I seen some fast track stars. Bolt keep doing what you are doing, and maybe after runnig is over, you can teach others your skills. May God be with you always
