In this week's episode of Spike TV's MMA reality show 'The Ultimate Fighter,' well-known street fighter Kimbo Slice took center stage in a bout with former IFL champ Roy "Big Country" Nelson. The match, which was supposed to be two five-minute rounds, lasted just a round in a half before the ref ended it. Why was the fight ended early?
Nelson had a 30-pound advantage at 264 and was able to take Kimbo to the ground in the second round. Nelson just laid on top of Kimbo for two or three minutes, throwing soft punches to the top of Kimbo's head. Kimbo did get a few strikes to Nelson's chin before being taken down, but he wasn't strong enough to get Nelson off of him.
"I fought Roy with caution. I did go for the kill one time, but I knew to be careful because Roy will bait you," Kimbo told the TUF Podcast after the fight at SpikeTV.com. "So when I thought I rocked him, I went in for the kill, and that's when I made my mistake. By the second round, he figured out how to get in. The first round, I was able to keep him at bay, but the second round, he played a little bit more of a possum, and he was able to get me down to the ground."
So what's next for Kimbo Slice? The show suggested that he may get a chance to fight again. There's also word that Kimbo will fight during the show's finale in December as an undercard. If he performs well, he may get a contract with UFC, despite not winning the show. In the meantime, check out clips from this week's fight:

if he could learn to fight on the ground he would be a beast. He is a brawler and that is not enough to succeed in the MMA business. I wish him well bc he seems to be a good dude!!!

In his Street Fighter days Nelson would have never gotten close enough To take Kimbo down. Early on when Kimbo first came into Elite XC\MMA Kimbo floored one or two top MMA guys, then he got lazy and arrogrant and got knocked da fucc out! -In 14 Seconds!? - and Kimbo cannot wrestle, a high school kid could pin his azz. Also hasnt Nelson been soundly beeaten more than a few times? I thought Nelson had retired from MMA.

I agree. Kimbo packs one hell of a punch!!!! I've seen his online "brawls". If he found a few great trainers to teach him martial arts as well as how to wrestle and stuck with it, he'd be the total package. I was very suprised that he was so humble after the fight. Roy didn't even "beat" him, he simply laid on top of him. Not saying that Roy Nelson didn't deserve the title of WINNER, I was actually hoping he'd win! LOL I was just suprised he didn't have to do that much to beat Kimbo. Not so sure UFC is the platform Kimbo needs at this point, he needs to put in time for LOTS OF TRAINING.

This was a terrible fight and neither guy did anything to win..... Kimbo is passive and should have used his speed & strength on this slow out of shape cat.. Let your hands go & he would have had a knock out.... He's thinking to much in the octagon instead of going in for the kill with his speed and conditioning....... Nelson punches like a 13 yr old girl...Kimbo should be embarrassed....
