Michael Vick is out of jail, back in an NFL uniform and trying to rebuild his image. He's having a hard time though because Americans really love their dogs and hate people who abuse them. But in an effort to show people that he's a changed man, Vick will be launching a new reality show on BET in January. It's called 'The Michael Vick Project,' and the show will attempt to focus on his re-assimilation into his NFL life, while looking at his past troubles and how he's rectifying them today.
"I just want people to really get to know me as an individual," Vick told the L.A. Times. "I am a human being. I've made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it's not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.
This show can be a blueprint for so many kids," he said. "I want to show them that things are going to happen, that they're not going to get through life without dealing with some kind of adversity. I want to show that if they have a fall from grace, this is how they can turn it around. We want this to be a story of hope."
The folks at PETA aren't buying it, though. They still feel that Vick isn't truly remorseful, and that everything he's done up to this day isn't enough to be forgiven.
"People who abuse animals don't deserve to be rewarded," said PETA spokesman Dan Shannon. "They shouldn't be given multimillion-dollar contracts . . . or given the privilege of being a role model. We don't believe Michael Vick understands the seriousness of his crime. I think he's sorry he got caught, but only time will tell if he's truly remorseful."
Regardless, the Philadelphia Eagles, Vick's mentor Tony Dungy and BET have the embattled NFL star's back and hope that fans will have a better understanding of how he has grown.

Uh, no Mike you are not a human being. You are a vile monster. I'm wishing you much pain. As much pain as all those dogs you tortured, beat, hung, electrocuted, starved, and let lie alone afraid and in pain. That is what I wish for you Mr. Vick!

Lisa, you are entitled to your opinion but, Lisa girl that was HARSH! It says in the "Bible" whatever bad things you say or do onto others will come back at you "DOUBLE"! We all make mistakes like your ish don't stink? Let this man do what it do to get back on the right path! Vick is TRYING to but it's people like you that don't want him to succeed! Ok, what Vick did was NEGATIVE, but look check this out why don't we turn this tragedy into something POSITIVE and for the better! Let's try to teach others that do the same thing that it's wrong! Like you never made any mistakes in your life,PULEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ!!!!!

Yea you know where you can shove your bible. I hope he gets his back broken. If we are to forgive than lets forgive all of the slave owners and the racist. I mean we all make mistakes and at times are "negative"....lol love that term urban princess. So lets let by gones be by gones lets forgive those crackers for the past. They made a mistake. You may say there is no comparison but evil is evil no matter whom it is done too. While we're at it lets forgive the boys who beat that chicago boy to death and the one who raped his 8 day old baby.

Lisa, I hope you know by wishing harm on others only causes the same harm or more on you! Obviously you don't read the bible since you told the other person to shove it which means you don't believe in forgiveness or God. I just hope your never in a situation to be forgiven, but wait your human aren't you? So you've have been forgiven for something you just fail to realize it. I personally feel sad for people like. As much as you love dogs when human being gets killed your same person who don't say a word. And to me that what inhumane is!

i hear you lisa. it says that this show will work to improve HIS image. how is that helping dogs? im black but i got kids and i dont want them to see this fool sa a role model. he did his time fine./ but he dont need to be in the NFL.

Hi Lisa, you don't know what God said about forgiveness, you should do your research on that word along. Also don't be so easy to judge because it can come right back into your face, maybe not the same way Mr. Vick did it. He has ask for forgiveness and he has mine.I like dogs and cats and they were given to us for beautifulcation in this world, not to kill anyone else. Be blessed

Do you feel the same way about a woman who exercises her right to end the life of her unborn child? Of course not, that's not a baby you would say. A woman has a right to control her own body.
As much as I hate to see that someone brutalized innocent animals, I'm more incences at the taking of an innocent human life. Do you feel that the doctors who perform abortions are monsters and inhuman? Who could feel more compassion for an animal that for a baby who was never given the chance to live? Only a fool.

I agree with you,Lisa. I work at a prison and all of the inmates will tell you that they have "changed"(If they hadn't been caught, they would say they didn't do it too)--Oh! and they keep a Bible in hand to prove it. Why don't we just let them all out and give then a reality show... America is the greatest country in the world. And the dumbest.
