Has Michael Strahan done it all? He was a New York Giants sack master extraordinaire, a Super Bowl champ, Fox-TV football analyst, TV show host, endorsement deals master, author, future Hall of Famer and an avid humanitarian who represents various grassroots charities. Well, according to Strahan, it ain't over, til it's over. So now this all-around nice guy is trying his hand at not only acting but promoting a skin care line that is specifically aimed at the average Joe.

Black Voices: You are starring in the Fox-TV sitcom 'Brothers.' What exactly attracted you to the script?

Michael Strahan: Co-star Darryl Mitchell and I are great friends and wanted to work together. Since he couldn't play football, we thought we'd try acting together. So we hit the pavement and tried to sell the idea for 'Brothers' to producers and writers, and then we took it to various studios. We finally sold the concept and now we just wrapped our 13th episode. We have a great cast: Carl Weathers, CCH Pounder, Darryl Mitchell, and we've had wonderful guest stars, heavy hitters like Snoop Dogg, Kim Kardashian and Tichina Arnold.

BV: How has the show been doing as far as ratings?

MS: Yes, it has been doing well, but the ratings have improved since the show was moved. 'Brothers' was moved to Sunday nights at 7 p.m., EST, which is much better than the dead-end spot that we were in on Friday nights.

BV: I am so glad that Darryl Mitchell has a show; he is such a great actor.

MS: Yes, Darryl is such a great actor. You know, most people when they end up in a situation where they're paralyzed and in a wheel chair, they have people feeling sorry for them and they feel sorry for themselves - but not Darryl. Spend only two seconds with Darryl, and he'll shock you right out of it! He is so funny, never complains, he's just so up! You know, Darryl has actually figured out a way to use that wheelchair as the ultimate comedic prop. It is so amazing to watch what he does.

BV: Switching gears to your skin care line. Is it aimed specifically at black men?

MS: My line is geared toward men with ashy skin period! So that's all men! Everybody gets ashy. We men don't take care of ourselves. We take showers, throw on our clothes and run out the house. Vaseline Men has extremely hydrating products that, once applied to the skin, absorbs in 15 seconds. The products are amazing, they are lightweight, non-greasy, have no residue, are fast absorbing and can be used on the body and face.

BV: How many products are in the line?

MS: There are two products in the line. There is a regular and extra-strength for extra-dry skin.

BV: You are known as a kind of all-around nice guy. Besides adding credible appeal, what else do you bring to the Vaseline skin care line?

MS: The product speaks for itself. Folks look at athletes as kind of rough-and-tumble guys that probably would not do anything special to take care of their skin. I'm here to tell you that if you were to look in to the lockers of some of these sports guys, you would see lots of products, even more stuff than most women have! The reason why we sports guys have so many products is because we have to look good, especially since we're always on view. It is such a myth that we don't take care of ourselves. We do.

BV: Where will the skin care line be marketed?

MS: It is very affordable and will be absolutely everywhere: drugstores, mass discount retailers. Everywhere.

BV: You have done absolutely everything. What's next for Michael Strahan? What do you see yourself doing within the next few years?

MS: 'Brothers' has been a great entry into the entertainment business, so I would love to do more acting. It is so different from anything I've done. As a football analyst, I am committed at least for the next five years or so and am happy to do it, because I have such fun with those guys. It also allows me free time to pursue other things, like 'Brothers.' I would love to do movies and features. I think that will be next. I'm in my mid-thirties, so I'm looking for challenges. Acting would be a challenge at this point in my life.
