Today someone from MSNBC called me about Tiger Woods, leading me to do even more research on his current predicament. Normally, I'd have a lot to say, but I think that many of you already know what I am thinking. Tiger may have made a mistake, but he is compounding that mistake with even more mistakes. By avoiding the media and the police, Tiger is turning a molehill into a mountain, giving every hungry reporter, paparazzi and investigative blogger an even bigger bounty to chase down the details of his not-so-perfect private life.
If Tiger had been open and honest from the beginning, the story would have been eaten up by the slow weekend news cycle and the world would be on to something else by now. Instead, Tiger has given the media food for another two weeks, plus even more reason to believe that the excessively private golfer has that much more dirt in his personal endeavors. This is going to be a long year for Tiger Woods, for he needs to simply accept the fact that as hard as he might try, he cannot pretend to be squeaky clean for the rest of his life.
Here is the statement Woods released to the media about the incident that took place that night:
"As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore," Woods' statement read. "This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again."
In reference to the public speculation, Woods had this to say:
This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible. The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false. This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.
Below is the audio of the 911 call that was made on the night of Tiger Woods' car accident.
I am admittedly baffled at Tiger's incredibly flawed PR strategy. Simply releasing a statement on your website that provides no additional insight in to the situation and shunning the public in to leaving you alone is in stark contradiction to the fact that you've spent the last 10 years of your life begging for the public's attention. I respect Tiger Woods a great deal, and I admire his focus, but the truth of the matter is that as intelligent as Tiger might be, you can never trick the game of love and you can never make the public believe the image that you'd like them to see. The world is watching you closely, Tiger, whether you like it or not.

If my wife came chasing after me with a golf club smashing the windows out my vehicle causing me to run over a fire hydrant and hit a tree and the next day a cop comes to my house to ask me some questions and my wife says I'm sleeping come back some other time, I would be in jail in two minutes flat and I would not be allowed to keep it "A PRIVATE MATTER" Are you saying he's better than the rest of us because he's a good golfer?

It's a private matter, people. Geezuz H. freakin' Christ, when will all of you haters get a real life?
Oh, yeah, now go out and buy something and get further into financial debt. (Can anyone say Merry Christmas?)
Leave Tiger Woods' personal business to someone who gives a dayum: His wife! ;-)

One one hand, he is a public figure, and this incident did take place in "the public" so, he get's what everyone else who allows their drama to spill outside of their house gets, UNWANTED ATTENTION! Tiger has to deal with it like everyone else does. He is no exception to the rule just because he's named after an animal.
On the other hand, nobody really cares the way he might "think" he cares. Is he the first one to have issues in his marriage? No, and he won't be the last. Perhaps he should get over himself and deal with the fall out that he created by his actions. He's been a celebrity long enough to know that it won't be long before we're on to the next headline.
Tiger is learning that that pedestal that he was placed on is a very wobbly place. I'm over it!

Tiger does not control the system in the United States. He should of think about that before he began cheating on his wife and having her run after him with golf clubs. Why is she getting away with abuse when Chris Brown had to go to court. So it was ok for Chris Brown and Rihanna to be exposed and all over television and Tiger's face scratching and property damage must be private. Well this is not Sweden, in America what's good for the goose is good for the gander'.

Rush Limbaugh is suspicious of the media and the Florida Police so it seems like Rush is supportive of Tiger

Like he said: it's a private matter!! However, I have to agree with Doc. Tiger probably could have prevented the media blitz that's coming had he been straight up and cut the press off by addressing them as soon as they came. It would have thrown suspicion off of whatever he may be trying to hide. Public figures are lightning rods for the media and black public figures are guaranteed newsmakers. Black public figures who lead very private and untainted lives like Tiger and Denzel Washington are damn near Pulitzer prize-winning material for the reporter that can dig up some real dirt on them. The press has been salivating, waiting for Tiger to mess up and they think they may have found something now. If so, expect this to be on the cover of National Enquirer for the next couple weeks. If there really is a mistress involved, she's gonna try to get hers, be it hush money, a reality show or a tell-all interview.
