As the Cincinnati Bengals battled the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, the team played with a heavy heart as it mourned the death of teammate Chris Henry. The wide receiver died on Thursday morning from injuries suffered after he fell out of a moving truck on Wednesday. The team will fly to New Orleans on Tuesday for Henry's funeral.

"It's been an eerie week; it's been a week like no other for me," Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer told ESPN's John Clayton. "I haven't experienced anything like this with a big-time game and with the tragedy that took place. It sucks. It sucks to lose a teammate. There's no easy way to put it. There is no right or wrong way to put it. It sucks. But we've got a job to do, and we've got to move on."

Although Henry had a tough couple of years on and off the field, he was given a second chance last season after he was released from the team earlier that year. He came in with a new attitude and new aspirations, which inspired his teammates.

"He's our brother," Bengals left tackle Andrew Whitworth added. "Like I said before, Chris changed his life around when nobody thought he could. Nobody thought the Cincinnati Bengals could go from 2–14 to where we are now. We embodied that. He embodied us. He changed, and we changed. That's why he's important to us."

According to the New York Daily News, Henry's death resulted from blunt force trauma to the head. No charges have been filed in the case, and his fiancé, Loleini Tonga, who was driving the truck has yet to make any statement about the accident. Henry's family has yet to make a statement either.
