It's a familiar story with Allen Iverson. Iverson goes to a club with his crew and bodyguards, fans ooh and aah, one of them gets beat up, Iverson leaves, then a few months later he gets hit with a lawsuit. This time the suit is coming from his time in Detroit with the Pistons.According to the Detroit Free Press, Guy Walker filed a lawsuit against Iverson, claiming he "suffered severe pain, emotional distress and mental anguish," after an altercation at the South Beach Pizza Bar back in April 2009. The suit says Antwuan Clisey, one of Iverson's bodyguards, initiated an unprovoked attack against Walker that cleared the bar, while Iverson was escorted away and did nothing to stop the incident.
Walker said he suffered "an orbital blowout fracture of the eye" among other injuries. He is seeking $2.5 million in the suit. Iverson has yet to respond and a trial date has not been set.
Another suit took place back in 2005, when Iverson was sued by Marlin Godfrey, after he was beat up by one of Iverson's bodyguards at a Washington, D.C., nightclub. Apparently, Godfrey suffered a concussion, a ruptured eardrum, a burst blood vessel in his eye, a torn rotator cuff, cuts and bruises and emotional injuries. Godfrey was awarded $260,000.
