Serena Williams, Usain Bolt Given Laureus Awards

The Laureus World Sports Awards recognizes athletes and sports-affiliated personalities for their endeavors in their respective sports and communities. This year's awards were held in Abu Dhabi, where Serena Williams was awarded Sportswoman of the year for getting her No. 1 ranking in 2009 and winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles and Usain Bolt won Sportsman of the Year for winning three gold medals at the World Championships. Williams previously won the award in 2003 and Bolt previously won in 2009.

For his work in the states and Africa, Dikembe Mutumbo won the Sport for Good Award. Other winners included tennis player Kim Clijsters (Comeback of the Year), Formula 1's Jason Button (Breakthrough of the Year), Formula 1 racing team Brawn (Sports Team of the Year), Surfing champ Stephanie Gilmore (World Action Sportsperson of the Year) and swimmer Natalie Du Toit (Sportsperson with a Disability of the Year).
