The pressure of fame and celebrity has claimed another high-profile marriage. Former New York Giants star Tiki Barber and his longtime wife, Ginny, are calling it quits.
Barber, a correspondent on the 'Today' show, had been separated from his wife for months, effectively ending a relationship that began when both were students at the University of Virginia 16 years ago.
The couple have two sons, A.J., 7, and Chason, 6.
While more than half of American marriages end in divorce, the figures seem to soar when money, glamour and celebrity are added to the mix.
It seems that a day doesn't pass without a celebrity couple ending their marriage. It makes one wonder why they even bother getting married.
The Barbers, having spent more than a decade together, seemed like they would buck the divorce trend.
A Roanoke Va., native, Barber 35, played football at the University of Virginia and was drafted by the football New York Giants in 1997. Barber enjoyed a solid career with the Giants. His identical twin brother, Ronde, also plays professional football.
Even before retiring in 2007, Barber began working on his post-football career as an on-air personality in New York. Barber made appearances on the Fox News Channel show 'Fox & Friends' and appeared in numerous commercials.
Ginny (Cha) Barber has worked as a fashion publicist.

Satan is coming against marriages all over this nation. People need to be praying for their marriages and families.
Check out what this Prophet said about the destruction of marriages and families in 2009.

Marriage is hard work, it is no wonder people opt out it. The Barbers have two children and will always be joined at the hip in some capacity however.

Its hard on a marriage when your job keeps you away from home for long periods at a time, thats why so many high profile and celebrity marriages don't last.

To me, the only way that he would be hot is if he had a very high fever !!!
It is so interesting that so many African-American men seem to date and marry any type of Woman, except the one from his own racial background.
Too bad that they do not feel validated by people from their own Race. I guess that is a form of self contempt.

One thing i never read is that non black people are preferred many africans due to the fact they are more attractive to them. I know this statement annoys people, but really, dont people generally date or marry someone that is most attractive to them, well dont they?? So if you see a black man with a white woman on his arm, thats because he wants a white woman on his arm, and its that simple, Is it racist if i were to say "white women are more attractive" - to me that is?

Tiki is attractive, but ladies, I wouldn't be so "into" him if I were you? Is he into "you?" Ask yourself that then keep it moving, LOL! What's amazing is, he's been married to her for a while, and couldn't or didn't want to make this work. I don't know her part in this, but it's sad all around when people stay married for that long, and then call it quits. Understand, NO ONE should remain unhappily married, but I just think all too often, people lose the desire to work at it, and yes, that's sad, especially when kids are involved. Thankfully, my parents stayed together, worked things out, and they are still together, almost 41 years. Were things easy, NO. Are they easy now, NO. But they have made a commitment to remain together which is what my husband and I are working towards.
