The pressure of fame and celebrity has claimed another high-profile marriage. Former New York Giants star Tiki Barber and his longtime wife, Ginny, are calling it quits.
Barber, a correspondent on the 'Today' show, had been separated from his wife for months, effectively ending a relationship that began when both were students at the University of Virginia 16 years ago.
The couple have two sons, A.J., 7, and Chason, 6.
While more than half of American marriages end in divorce, the figures seem to soar when money, glamour and celebrity are added to the mix.
It seems that a day doesn't pass without a celebrity couple ending their marriage. It makes one wonder why they even bother getting married.
The Barbers, having spent more than a decade together, seemed like they would buck the divorce trend.
A Roanoke Va., native, Barber 35, played football at the University of Virginia and was drafted by the football New York Giants in 1997. Barber enjoyed a solid career with the Giants. His identical twin brother, Ronde, also plays professional football.
Even before retiring in 2007, Barber began working on his post-football career as an on-air personality in New York. Barber made appearances on the Fox News Channel show 'Fox & Friends' and appeared in numerous commercials.
Ginny (Cha) Barber has worked as a fashion publicist.

I totally agree with Mrs. DMS. Somebody wanted out, simply stated...somebody stopped putting forth effort. Marriage is a wonderful institution, if both people want it. People bash it so much, only because of society's stats. So what so many marriages end up in divorce. Bottomline, either party, JUST STOPPED WORKING AT IT, holding up their end of the bargain, whether its infidelity, spending up all the money, maintaing a work ethic, religious beliefs or something. Stop saying I would rather not, and seek who rather would. My parents have been married for 49 yrs this yr. Its been tough, but neither wanted to quit...give up their end of the bargain...opt out or cop out!

My issue is the same as viking, I really don't mind interracial relationships. However when it comes to wealthty blacks I would like for them to have a balck spouse. This is part of the reason that blacks have'nt progressed significantly (financially). When we make it we don't bring another along for the ride so when it is time to get a divorce a 1/3 or even in some cases 3/4 of our wealth goes to non blacks. it is so so said

WOW, your comment is so utterly ignorant, it's laughable, so with all the STDs and deadly diseases floating around, a stank azz ho as you put it, is somehow something to be shouting about having? No wonder we're in big trouble. And for the record, keep your stank azz ho, as you put it, if that's how you get down, but I hope you are being tested on the regular for any forms of diseases. Peace Out!!!

Well, let's see, I remember hearing him on a radio program about a year ago. He said his wifes parents live with them. Now - not his but hers. Hummmm. It is well- predictable. Black athlete makes good, must have someone other than Black woman to share success with. Drops this one to find another of the other kind. So what- who cares. Ronde is better looking in my opinion. Bet he didn't have a pre-nup. Bet mom and dad inlaw are calling him somethin other than Kiki now.

I am a black women and I have to say that I have to agree with u in some aspect. Black men will never realize that white america will never accept them. They will "accept" when u have money but when u fall they r the first5 to walk over u. Black men want to say they are black when they are in the gutter but when they make it they try to hide with a white woman like on one can see that they are black. We don't want u when u go that way u need to stay where u are when u fall and let your choice help u.
