Floyd "Money" Mayweather, 32, and Shane "Sugar" Mosley, 38, are set to fight at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on May 1st in a bout already being compared with the great fights of Evander Holyfield and Sugar Ray Leonard.
Shane is the underdog in the fight, whose career, at one point, appeared to have stalled until he tore fighter Antonio Margarito a new one last year. The bout was expected to be an obvious win for Margarito, except that Shane dominated Margarito from start to finish, immediately breathing new life in to his career.
While the blockbuster win saw the beginning of a new chapter in Shane's boxing career, it also saw the ending of another chapter in his personal life: Jin Mosley (pictured below), who was married to Shane for seven years and had three children with Shane, ended her marriage to the boxer a few months before the Margarito fight. Shane also has another son, Shane Jr., who is an up-and-coming boxer.

Still buoyed by his win over Margarito, Shane was scheduled to fight Haitian boxer Andre Berto next, but with the cataclysmic earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12th, Berto, who lost 8 family members in the quake, canceled the match.
In its place came the Mayweather opportunity. Watch Shane talk about his upcoming fight with the Money Mayweather here:
Mayweather had been named the WBC Welterweight Champion of the World and was named the Ring Fighter of the Year by Ring magazine before his retirement in 2007.
After knocking out fighter Ricky Hatton, Mayweather announced, amid the celebration, that he would retire in order to focus on his Mayweather Promotions company. As prophesied by father Floyd Mayweather Sr., though, retirement would be brief: After two years of watching on the sidelines, Mayweather chose to re-enter the ring with Juan Manuel Marquez.
Marquez is a respected world-class fighter, who many believed would give the Mayweather stiff competition. In an unexpected turn of events, Marquez, as with Margarito when he fought Shane, would also end up being dominated in all 12 rounds, creating a concrete win for Mayweather.
After beating Marquez in a unanimous decision, the much-anticipated fight with Philipino fighting-sensation Manny Pacquiao, who is considered by many to be the best welterweight boxer, was on the horizon.
The Mayweather/Pacquiao fight was to take place this year, until Mayweather's insistence on Olympic-style blood testing, where a boxer's blood is tested randomly before and after the fight, caused Pacquiao to back out of the fight to face Ghanaian sensation Joshua Clottey in March instead.
Seen as one of the fastest and most sophisticated fighters in the sport, Mayweather's bout with Sugar represents the steady rebuilding of his claim the he is the true Welterweight champion of the world.
A win over Shane will surely continue to reconsolidate his path to those bragging rights and solidify the inevitable fight against Pacquiao. A loss, though, would irreparably taint his undefeated record and make it that much harder to reclaim the welterweight champ title he sported before his retirement. Either way, the fight upcoming in May will be one to watch for speed, strength, endurance and an ultimate battle of wits.

I love both sugar shane and money mayweather, but i have to go with money mayweather, he's pound for pound thet best in boxing, i don't see anybody beating him, he will probably lose one day, but it will be from aging and slowing down.

I think I will go with Shane on this one. What are they 12, 13? They are both so tiny. I may actually sit a watch this one.

Money, and prestige has a lot to do with this fight. Mayweather has little to lose, 30-1 is a real good boxing career. and Shane a huge money fight before he turns forty should he lose. Shane will be more desperate to win knowing what a loss would do to his boxing career. I pick Shane.
