There's no secret about former NFL star Lawrence Taylor's past: he discusses it openly and is adamant about having moved forward. Now the Hall of Fame linebacker, though, is being charged with rape of a 16-year-old girl.According to police, the teenager was beaten by 36-year-old ex-con Rasheed Davis and forced in to prostitution. Davis dropped off the girl at Taylor's Holiday Inn room early Thursday morning and was told to have sex with him. On the way to the hotel, though, the girl sent a text to her uncle about the ordeal, who called the NYPD.
Taylor allegedly paid the girl $300. Around 4 a.m. on Thursday morning, Ramapo, N.Y. police woke up Taylor and arrested him on charges of third-degree rape and patronizing a prostitute.

Taylor was released on $75,000 bail and told the media waiting outside, "I'm not that important."
Taylor's lawyer, Arthur Aidala, stood by LT's innocence, "My client did not have sex with anybody," Aidala told the Associated Press. "Lawrence Taylor did not rape anybody." He will be due in court again on June 10th.
Police say the teenager has been missing since March and met Davis at a Bronx bus stop. The girl ran away from home and was looking for a place to stay, so Davis offered his place. Davis then forced her to perform sexual favors for other people. According to police, early Thursday morning, Davis kicked and punched her, drove her to Taylor's hotel against her will and told her to have sex with him. When she refused, Davis gave her to Taylor, and Taylor gave her $300, which she gave to Davis. After the girl's uncle called police, Davis was also arrested on charges of unlawful imprisonment, assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Davis is an ex-convict who served an 8- to- 25-year sentence for manslaughter. He was paroled in 2008, after serving 14 years.

Taylor is no different than a majority of professional and former professional athletes. They are, for the most part, nothing but a bunch of criminals who have gotten a pass for their crimes because they play a professional sports. I am sure there are a few good men playing professional sports, but you have to look long and hard to find them. The problem starts when they are young. Kids that are good athletes are given a pass for all of their transgressions and most of their crimes are swept under the rug because winning has become more important than the law. This is a real problem for the good people in society.

I have to agree with you on this... my question is, how is his lawyer going to recant his [sic..he didn't have sex with anybody, he didn't rape anybody story]?
Just anxious to see how this is going to play out, I see that NutriSystem has already dropped him.

Some men rich or poor are just plain stupid,you are a former well known pro football player, why do you have to pay for sex? I know you could have found a willing partner out there for free.This young girl may have been a prositute seems she was forced into it by Rasheed Davis but she was still 16 and Mr.Taylor should have known better, it doesnt matter if he touched her not the fact she was 16 and even if he exposed his genitals to her he can charged with rape seems unfair but its the law designed to protect underaged girls even if they know what they doing.

There is no fool like an old fool. If you can afford $75,000 in bail money - then you could have afforded to go to a more upscale hotel instead of some seedy hotel; that for us common folk $100 per night is a good deal; BUT for a man like LT is way below what is expected. THEREFORE MORE THEN LIKELY HE WAS THERE FOR NO GOOD INTENT. Further more how did this Rasheed Davis know where and whom to send this girl to?
If indeed LT is innocent and you are in a hotel room and some chick comes to knock on your door; she is not your wife, sister, mother, niece or any other female relative. WHY WOULD YOU OPEN THE DOOR TO HER ( SINCE AFTER ALL YOU ARE NOT EXPECTING ANY COMPANY) and if you are stupid enough to open your door to her WHY DO YOU NOT SEND HER AWAY INSTEAD OF ENTERTAINING HER IN CONVERSATION AND ALLOWING HER TO ENTER YOUR ROOM!!!!!.

I agree with you 100%. If he had been home with his wife then none of this would have happend. I mean this is serious. I can't understand how men will risk being with a prostitute of any age when they know it could lead to jail time and the destruction of their family. Men completely lose their minds when it comes to a little poonanny. I mean I see handsome guys all the time but I don't lose my mind over them. I just don't get it. Men are supposed to be strong but they are sooooo weak when it comes to sex. SMH!

To further this conversation, this girl could have been his daughter. How digusting his old ass is for even a thought of having sex with a 16 year old. And, how would he feel if this were is daughter, niece or sister? There are way too many high paid call girls that this "IDIOT" could have paid to have sex with. And the person who said that he was obviously at this hotel for NO GOOD...is absolutely right and if he was a real man, why did he NOT call the police to report that this girl was a run-a-way and that a pimp was trying to force her to have sex with him or anyone else for that matter? And not to mention that the pimp beat her prior to this and this JACKASS...still had sex with her!?!?

The 1st person that commented on these athletes being provided with free passes in life and are in society committing these types of acts is absolutely correct and something needs to be done. This was a 16 year old child. I also hope that she sues the pants off his ass for real. He deserves to lose everything that he has. He has hurt his children, wife and his family by bringing on this type of shame to them. MEN, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GET IT!?!? Sex is not the only thing that you should be focusing on in this world. If it were my child, that fool would pay...one way or another! If he is indeed found guilty, he deserves whatever happens to him and take that slim of a so-called pimp off the streets along with him. I only pray that this child can heal from this ordeal and realize that running away from home is simply not the answer to solving her problems. I also hope that the uncle can provide some type of stability in her life and help her work through whatever caused her to run away from home and to get her through this. Too bad that she could not talk to him before all this happened to her. My heart goes out to her and may the Lord give her peace with this but I fear that this is only just the beginning for her.

I want to know why Lawrence Taylor was arrrested for rape when he was lead to believe by the girl (who was a prostitute) and her pimp that she was 19, but Ben Roethlisberger a white football player was accused not once but twice of rapeing two girls who were not prostitute and yet all he got was suspended from six games. Yet Taylor was put in jail from the moment the accusetion was made until he post bond. Also why wasn't the pimp who put this young girl on the street put in jail as well?
