It wasn't a pretty site for YouTube backyard brawling sensation Kimbo Slice. His dreams came true when he became an Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC) fighter last year, but now those dreams have come to an end. On Saturday night, Kimbo Slice fought his Ultimate Fighter cast mate Matt Mitrione in Montreal as part of UFC 113 and was soundly defeated in the second round by technical knockout.Slice started out decently enough, with impressive takedowns and body slams against Mitrione, but he got tired very quickly. Mitrone wore him down in the second round with a variety of holds and swift kicks before finally defeating him after wailing on his head while sitting on top of him. This was Kimbo's first Pay-Per-View fight, but his second official UFC fight. In his first fight, he defeated Houston Alexander by decision.
In a post-fight interview, UFC Prez Dana White announced that Kimbo Slice was finished as a UFC fighter. White was respectful in his announcement and said he was glad he gave Slice a chance to compete, but, ultimately, Slice was old and his skills weren't up to par on a UFC level. White did leave the door open for Slice to be able to fight again in the UFC, but that's highly unlikely. Check out the fight and White's announcement:

Kimbo Slice: all hype, all thug and no skills.
The cartoon character Kimbo Slice who was supposed to the #1 menacing face & presence of the UFC to elevate the sport has now taken his place alongside the recently released ex-Oakland Raider JaMarcus Russell, a complete bust and a joke who both were selected highly by their respective sports based on their physical qualities and not based on having skills or actual talent.
It one thing to look the part: be the biggest and baddest in your hood and beat up your homies in reefer & alcohol fueled, chump change backyard fights on Youtube for all to see and admire (and build your rep) but professional sports is not backyard or high school. It's a real job.
It is all about skill, training, education, dedication, committment, mental and physical toughness that you can't fake when your opponent is just as big, just as tough, better skilled, more experienced, talented and is not afraid of you. This is a job that puts food on the family table, not just something to do because you like to fight in which Kimbo sold to the public as his main attribute.
UFC Prez Dana White probably knew for while that Kimbo Slice was out of his league but contractually could not pull the plug early and he hoped that Slice would redeem himself after that embrassasing less than 30 seconds, one punch knockout in his second fight, that nationally televised disaster displayed that he's not good at all and can't cut it; his lack of preparation, lack of physical & mental conditioning, lack of ability and his unwillingness to fight (he just gave up) left the UFC Prez no choice but to fire Kimbo Slice.
Having the "look" does not get the job done. You have to work hard and know what you are doing.
And it probably didn't help that all his fellow competitors, opponents and trainers were laughing behind Kimbo's back and knew that Slice was a highly paid character and not a real fighter.
Now when Kimbo Slice goes back to the comfort of the hood back home he will get some love (and some flak) from his homies who will ride and die with him (as along as he has some money left over and he's buying and entertaining) and he will be in some rap videos and ghetto movies as a tough guy but in the REAL WORLD, Kimbo Slice (and the entire world knows it) is just a busta.

Kimbo is actually a nice guy, and a good father. Yeah he seems like a thug from his youtube vids, but know the truth before speaking your mind.

Kimbo has been done a long time ago. He never had the discipline for this type of fighting. He's a street fighter but he's too old and not versatile enough. More hype than talent. I bet White is totally embarrassed he put so much stock in Slice but at least he helped sell some tickets and PPV units.

Well, you can go to the authorites. It is illegal to abandon your child, he is legally responisbile for your care and well being including clothing and feeding you. I would contact the police to at least make a statement, he should be held liable for his actions! I'm sorry to hear this, if at all possible try to contact any other relatives, I know your boyfriend is being helpful, but this is not a positive environment for you, and I'm not sure your boyfriend has the means to take care of you financially and educationally, which means you will miss out on lots of life. You are a kid and should remain one as long as you can! Good Luck!

Kimbo did not look good in this fight, the problem is he has no legs, all upper body, anybody who attack his legs will beat him, he should of tried boxing instead, he won't win a title there either, but he would of made more money and got some wins boxing.

OOOZZZZZ You are an ignorant piece of work. You need to keep with fact and stop adding on your prejudice ass comments. Your posts could have been insightful if you had left out comments like:

Who cares what he did in a backyard...Obviously not MMA fans. Malls are for shopping, backyards are for bbqing. The ring and cage is for fighting. Anywhere else is just punks. Kimbo fought in a fixed elite XC, lost his first fight in TUF, won a decision over a fighter who had absolutely no gameplan other than stretching his legs, and got beatup by Mitrione. Obviously Kimbo has some skills and strnegth but he neede to impress and Dana knew kimbo would not make a run for the title. He can get the take down but doesnt know how to stay on top and grapple. Theres alot more to MMA than just banging. I hope Kimbo sticks with MMA tho maybe go to strikeforce or some other organization and trains on his weaknesses rather his strengths.
